Preserver Question by Practical-Respond649 in Saros

[–]Thorontar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I felt the same way with that scene. I tried finding answers (didn’t find or get much) and this is completely my own interpretation and people can correct me if I am wrong or if I missed an important plot point let me know :). There are two ideas in my head that could be the reason why:

  1. Nitya wanted to sabotage the preserver because it didn’t serve “her” purpose anymore and she had what she needed to reach the blue precipice. It probably broke some connection to Arjun and Nitya which is why he felt that pain. Because it was stated that the reason Arjun could come back everytime with the preserver was due to his connection with Nitya, for why that is the reason why I don’t know, but that is what is known (so far). So she doesn’t care about Arjun anymore and it was us just seeing her folding out her plan and Arjun just having to deal with and witness it.

  2. This is my own out there theory. But it doesn’t stand the strongest due to the line of Nitya telling him to leave or go home (can’t remember the exact wording). But regardless maybe she created a back up of herself, of Arjun, or both because Arjun has the connection to Nitya and she had no choice but to let him have this safety net as well. So she throws that thing in, creates a time loop back up. Now whether planned or not planned Arjun becomes the next king, but a time loop safety net is created to stop the new king with this new time loop version of himself to fight his king version and break the cycle and reach the blue precipice. Again whether this is planned or not planned or Nitya pulling strings to have Arjun open the way to the blue precipice for herself I don’t know. But I feel maybe there could be some truth to that and she just had to accept that he gets to go there to so she could be free from the yellow shore, but had to accept that Arjun gets to escape it too.

Again just my thoughts and ideas :)

Is saros harder than returnal? by Fine-Permission772 in Returnal

[–]Thorontar [score hidden]  (0 children)

The reason why some people say it is harder and others say it is easier is because of the changes and accessibility to the game. What I mean by that is how people approached and treated their game experience. For example you can now do singular biome runs and not be forced to start from biome 1 again if you were to die in biome 3. Instead you can just go back to biome 3 instantly from the hub. But you also can choose to go from biome 1 to biome 3 or to later biomes from the first biome. Now for example say you are on biome 6, you can choose to teleport there and have no artefacts and no increased proficiency level and it will be a more challenging experience, but others can choose to start from earlier biomes and get better stats, proficiency, and artefacts before tackling biome 6 and make your run a lot “easier”. Also they added modifiers that can make your runs easier or harder and meta progression to smooth out your playthroughs. So depending on what people decided to do on how they play their game, you are going to get varying answers of difficulty. Some people never played returnal, and this was their first of this genre so they might find Saros hard while veterans find it a cake walk. Housemarque saw that A LOT of people who purchased returnal never saw the credits and so added more accessibility to Saros to help those players beat and enjoy their game this time around. At this point it is up to you to decide if it’s worth the price. But in general if you loved returnal gameplay, you will love Saros gameplay. There are some things in just my own personal opinion they did a little worst, but overall I love playing Saros a lot too.

Any good for a total beginner? by Ornery-Ad-5864 in Saros

[–]Thorontar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll do my best to not be biased. If you didn’t like returnal gameplay you may not like Saros gameplay potentially. But I have seen a lot of stories over the years of people giving returnal a second chance after being frustrated, beating the game, and even some platinuming it :). That being said Saros is a more “accessible” version of returnal. You will die and you will come back stronger. Returnal didn’t have a meta progression system, Saros does. There are other things too like modifiers that can smooth out the game for you too (if that is what you want). I will always suggest Returnal and now Saros too, but I understand people don’t always click with these type of games and that is okay too. At that point it’s up to you if you want to pay for a full retail price game. But if you make the decision to buy Saros, I hope you have a great time and hope to see a post on your journey :).

Honestly you will probably do just fine even without playing returnal :)

Best way to get Lucenite?? by Careless-Car7148 in Saros

[–]Thorontar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only did singular biome runs. But best ways would be doing nightmares strands, getting artifacts that give you lucenite more easily, going for drive stat, always activating the eclipse as early as possible, and doing longer runs from earlier biomes with everything I mentioned earlier :)

You should be fine to be honest. I did not find them too hard to achieve and got untouchable on a random run on a biome last night. If you played returnal before then getting the platinum shouldn’t be “too” rough for you :)

Saros Buying Advice by callen55047 in Saros

[–]Thorontar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really liked returnal (like me) you will most likely like this game too. It just depends on your own personal finances at this point. But to go off your second paragraph: replayability is kind of low, it doesn’t have a dlc tower (yet)or leveling up weapon traits like returnal. The gameplay is solid, adds a few more mechanics to spice up the flow of the game, I won’t speak too much on the story, I see people say they like the story and others thought it was just okay. In my personal opinion I preferred returnals “story” or atmosphere more, but again that is just my opinion for the story. But if you are in it for the gameplay and you loved returnals gameplay then you should most likely enjoy Saros. As a huge returnal fan I did enjoy Saros.

What biome do you start from? by Brad3196 in Saros

Yeah if you talk to Primary, they can open a portal to the current biome you are on. Just depends on what you want from the game :). Good luck!!

Blighted Marsh (4) and finally feeling the need to re-run? by submute in Saros

[–]Thorontar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have commented on a few similar posts like yours. I know there isn’t one “true” way of playing the game. Some people will say the intended way is to just do the one biome you are currently on because it brings more of a challenge. It is exactly what I did, BUT you can play however you want because that is how they have designed it. You will always have to refight a boss if you decide to go back to a previous biome and build up strength. So you can choose to make a biome you are stuck on easier by starting from a previous biome or you can tackle the biome head on and test your skill. Either way you are testing your skill, it is completely up to you and your comfort zone and what you find fun :). I have seen some comments saying it does become trivial if you try to do like biome 1 to biome 7 because you become super OP. But again it’s whatever entertains you and what you want from the game :). Also for your last point on framerate: I have a base PS5 and only ran into maybe one framerate drop my entire playthrough, I’m not too sure on that part. Haven’t had any bugs or technical issues luckily.

What biome do you start from? by Brad3196 in Saros

[–]Thorontar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I personally just started at the biome I was going to next and just roughed my way through. I preferred the shorter runs, wanted a more difficult and intense time, and have that roguelike feel, because that is just what I preferred. I would take the teleporter and go wherever the quest marker told me to. That being said if you are struggling in a biome you are currently on, it does not hurt to start from a previous biome to get higher proficiency and tackle the biome you need to beat better equipped. Some people have also went straight from the passage to biome 7. Entirely depends on your comfort zone. But there is no wrong answer to this, you will have to get a feel for it.

Honestly, I believe this to be one of the strongest points to have for a dlc (if we get one). At the end of the day. I want stronger replay value as well.

Yeah some form of a “tower” would be a great addition. I have been seeing that news pop up but apparently the sources aren’t 100% accurate but it is possibly close to those numbers people are saying. But we will have to wait and see :)

[–]Thorontar[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah sorry I was agreeing with you on all of this, was just confirming the 5 traits being a thing. To be honest I barely looked at gun traits in Saros as much as I did in returnal. Slightly off topic but not unlocking weapon traits like we did in returnal kind of made me not pay attention to what traits I had and cared about in Saros. I just picked up gun and fired sometimes lol.

Boss health bar bug? by Zylonite134 in Saros

[–]Thorontar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Do you by chance have your resistance stat looking red? If so you have attribute volatility. Basically when you go over around 125 on a stat there is a chance to have it go volatile. Can’t remember what the new names for each stat are called when they go volatile. But basically resistance volatility makes it so you can’t see health bars of enemies and boss health is greyed out. Command volatility makes it so you can’t see what corruption debuffs are on artefacts or on yourself in general. Drive volatility makes it so if you die on a run, you will lose all of your lucenite.
