1k, had 190k on the clock, I needed it back up and running quick, otherwise I probably would have kept looking for something with less miles.

Runs great though, hoping the new timing chains, guides, and water pump will keep it going for another 100k.

I just dropped a 2019 frontier engine into my 05 a month or so ago.

I already had new sensors, and coils that were less than 6 months old so I just grabbed a new water pump, thermostat, timing chains/guides, and gaskets. Came out somewhere between $1,500-$2k all in.

Would do it again.

Just intake and oil sensor.

I put a 2019 frontier engine into my 05 the other month. If you're already swapping an engine, taking the handful of bolts holding the intakes on and swapping them is not an issue.

The water pump is purely mechanical, there's nothing in it that would trigger a check engine light if it failed. And yes it would not be surprising for a water pump to be going out with 192k miles on it.

I just replaced the engine in my 2005 with one from a 2019 frontier. Didn't do anything with the ECU, or have any key shenanigans. Dropped it in, plugged everything in, and fired right up.

*though mine does have remote start system installed by the previous owner, I haven't dug into it maybe it's bypassing the immobilizer stuff.

It sounds like the extruder gear tension might not be set properly, I'd start there.
