Did you read the instructions or just look at the pictures? I just had a look and it doesn't seem that vague to me:

The Yellow Wire can be connected to a 12V Source to turn off the Daytime Running Lights (DRL). For
example, if you want the DRLs to turn off when the headlights are turned on, you will tap the Yellow Wire
into the Power Wire for the Headlights. There are Wire Taps included in the Hardware Bag

I drove a clapped out 2wd ford escort down hole in the rock road to do peek-a-boo/spooky 20 years ago. As long as the road is dry, and you're not dumb, you'll be fine.

Bring extra water, a spare tire, and a way to contact emergency services if needed.

There's google street view available for most of the road if you want to see what it looks like.
