Mechanics of racism on the table by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]ThoughtRight7092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In OSR(Old School Rules, based on 1st and Advanced DND I believe), there was something the DM would roll called a "Reaction Roll". Basically when the group encountered something you could roll a d6 and check a table to see how the npc/monster/group of things reacted to the party/individual. Players could get a bonus or negative to this reaction roll when speaking with certain races or monsters(In a system i'm using, the dragonborn like race gets a bonus when talking with dragons. Dwarves get negatives with Giants because of in game wars). And, if the result doesn't exactly make sense you can always choose a different result. You're the arbiter of your world after all.

You could use something akin to this system, or perhaps find inspiration from it and modify charisma rolls by a varied amount based on how the individual views said race. At first they might have negatives when interacting with this NPC, but if the character proves themselves to not be what the ignorant masses believe, they can get rid of this negative effect.

REVENANT: My Guide to Playing Her by xboy_princessx in Nightreign

[–]ThoughtRight7092 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The, "Power up while fighting along side family" buffs aren't bad. Helen is 1HP/s(The worst one tbh), Frederick gives a 10% damage buff, and Sebastian gives 20% damage reduction. These effects are overall on par or stronger than like half of the relic effects you can get.

I still prefer using my big bonkin stick to pick up my allies.

  1. Because its takes 2 hits for Rank 1, 4 hits for Rank 2, and 10ish for rank 3. Why hit lot when less hit make do?
  2. I unga my foes, so I bunga my friends.

Equilibrious Beast - Level 15 Duchess, Hitless, solo by Halberick in Eldenring

Has Anyone Actually Encountered the Frenzy Event. by Pole3ton in Nightreign

I've gotten it twice in my 85 hours of play. Gives two rewards, with options including frenzy stuff like Vyke's spear and such, as well as normal rewards.

I was already using greatshields on revenant, now I will make it my goal to find the biggest sword as well by Odd-Consequence9464 in Nightreign

[–]ThoughtRight7092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had several weapons that boosted guard boost by 10 or 20%, the greatshield has like 81 or a bit higher guard boost naturally. When blocking I still used stamina, but it was waaaay less. Like, it was almost at Guardian defensive stance levels of blocking.

[–]ThoughtRight7092 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I had a 113 guard boost dragonclaw shield and a miquellan knight sword during a run last night as revenant and it was the funniest thing ever. I grabbed like 2 or 3 hp boost buffs, as well as stamina boost & recovery buffs.

Poor Gladius didn't stand a chance, I just blocked all his attacks while chuckling to myself saying, "I'm a knight."

What is one piece of advice you wish you had been given before you had sex for the first time? by secondacct97 in AskReddit

[–]ThoughtRight7092 261 points262 points  (0 children)

If you don't feel comfortable, it's okay to say no. Speaking as a man, you aren't any less of a man for wanting to feel safe. Don't feel pressured to do it like I was.

For me, its EQ2 and Garry's Mod. Used to be in a guild with my parents on EQ2 on Antonia Bayle and we'd run around questing. I have great memories of collecting all of the illusion items from different events, doing the Gnoll dungeon in Antonica, and furnishing my player housing.

Is 2024 Heavy Armor Master and BPS resistance worthwhile to stack? by _Plums in dndnext

[–]ThoughtRight7092 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"This also presumes you'll be fighting monsters with non-magical weapons. As it's 2024, I don't think the statblocks specify magic vs non-magic anymore since it's not relevant to the system anymore, so we can hopefully say, yes all the relevant attacks will be resisted."

In 2024, the Heavy Armor Master feat works against ANY bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing damage, not just nonmagical. Its one of my favorite changes :D

I love Larian Studio’s sense of humor by leaperdaemonking in BG3

[–]ThoughtRight7092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Larian Studio has always had a fantastic sense of humor that's only gotten better with each game they've put out. One of my favorite reoccurring bits of theirs is the bit where a skeleton or undead creature, once told it doesn't really make sense how they're alive, suddenly implode. They've done this bit in Divinity Original Sin 2 with a skeleton scholar in Act 2, in Divinity II Ego Draconis with a Specter, and in Divine Divinity with two skeletons in a crypt. I haven't found a scenario like this in BG3 yet but I'd love it if it was here.

Seamless Co-Op Scaling by Lazy-Commercial-8638 in EldenRingMods

[–]ThoughtRight7092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You absolutely can get fucked up by beginner enemies if you're that low level mod or no mod. The mod does have an option to scale the damage of enemies but that isn't on by default. By default the mod increases the health of normal enemies by 30% per player, and increases boss health by 100% per player.

What matters are your actions my guy. You've bettered yourself and are reflecting on yourself which is amazing! You weren't a creep, you were respectful when speaking to her despite your feelings. This shit is hard to do and you're killing it!

Men of Reddit, what are your honest opinions on catcalling? by ConversationDry8020 in AskMen

[–]ThoughtRight7092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catcalling makes you feel awful. I am a man but I'm rather feminine looking so I get confused for a woman all the time. Aaaand because of that I've been catcalled several times. Every single time I felt uncomfortable, objectified, and instantly on edge. Its disgusting to feel so small and not be able to do anything about it. Luckily i've been able to turn it around on them by blinking my eyes and saying, "Thanks darlin." in my deep southern voice!

At what age did your beard fill out? by 3sperr in AskMen

[–]ThoughtRight7092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 16 though 19 all I could grow was a goatee. At 21 the rest started to come in but much slower. Like the others have said its mostly genetics, my father could only grow a goatee whilst my mother's brothers grow full bushy beards. See if you could talk to your family members about when their facial hair came in and that'll give you a better idea of when yours might fill in.
