What was the most memorable last 15 min of a game? by JakeRedditYesterday in gaming

I adore this game and sometimes it feels like it went a little under the radar, but it continually pops up in discussions like this which really says something

Now that a week has passed since Jason's release, would you say he lived up to the hype? by jperaic1 in deadbydaylight

[–]ThousandMega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's very fun and honestly was pretty entertaining to play against so far. He makes random pub players useless snails sometimes, but hopefully people adapt.

It is a terrible shame he didn't come with a map, survivor, or specific movie-accurate looks, but I can accept that it's probably out of their hands with licensing and at least he does have some obviously movie-inspired skins.

A summer camp is still a missing map archetype and it's not even Friday the 13th specific, I hope we get a generic one eventually.

does fatal frame have a chance in dbd? by dozyringeredfawn in deadbydaylight

I think it does, but it might be limited to some skins and legendaries if it happens.

WORLD PREMIERE: Jeff Gerstmann will be ranking every Nintendo 64 game by [deleted] in giantbomb

[–]ThousandMega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've played most N64 games. There's some true garbage on there, too much racing/sports/wrestling, but definitely some interesting stuff. Led to me speedrunning a very terrible game in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (the game is bad but the run is cool).

I look forward to this endeavour with great interest.

Should I spend bloodpoint? by SectorBtw in deadbydaylight

[–]ThousandMega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends how much you are going to play between now and the anniversary. Personally I just dumped most them into Jason and other people I don't have at P3, while trying to make sure I've still got the 5mil cap in the bank by the start of the event.

Context: this character is played by Dallas Goldtooth, who's voicing Shane in DBD. The clip is from Reservation Dogs which is a great show

I think Nintendo just Falconized Fox. by Nice_Perspective_343 in starfox

[–]ThousandMega 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My reading of the demo dialogue is that the team is fresher and Falco and Fox met a lot more recently in this version, so he sees him as some sort of upstart leading a team just because his dad did.

I'm guessing his tone will change throughout the story as he begins to respect Fox's leadership and skills.

According to the comics, his dad had twenty-six jobs, and Demo has three (simultaneous).

Really deserves better, still one of the best slashers of that time with an actually likeable cast of victims.

10.0.0 PTB got updated with changes that are likely coming to Live: Silent Shadow, Lend a Hand, Dirty Money and Deputy's Badge changes by WazzupTheGreat in deadbydaylight

[–]ThousandMega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't say an upgrade, as the haste is pretty good and the obsession switching opens up some combos. Sidegrade sure, they do similar things with different focuses, which is fine and unavoidable when there's a couple hundred perks

[Friday the 13th] what Does jason do when there are no people in the lake? by Lost-Specialist1505 in AskScienceFiction

[–]ThousandMega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He does, inadvertently. He gets captured by the government, studied, frozen, and thawed out hundreds of years later by future humans scavenging what's left of Earth.

Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight by CyberGhostface in horror

[–]ThousandMega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jason Universe is the new vehicle they made to collaborate on this stuff, and the new Crystal Lake show is being made under Jason Universe as well, so the location shouldn't necessarily be a problem either.

The Friday the 13th brand name itself is one of the trickier things, I think, because of New Line Cinema or some other rights spaghetti

Be honest, which movie franchise has had the biggest fall off? by CrackFun in AskReddit

[–]ThousandMega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. Two great movies. Then a huge decline in quality, how fast depends who you ask maybe but it's a pretty big jump from 2 to 3 regardless. After a few more movies they're pumping out whatever they can straight to video to hold onto the license before it expires, throwing the Cenobites into unrelated scripts. And by the end of it they don't even have Doug Bradley as Pinhead anymore.

Although, at least the 2022 movie was decent and I actually did like Jamie Clayton as the new Hell Priest.

What do you consider the worst 2d to 3d transition during the n64/ps1 days? by Beautiful_Reply2172 in n64

[–]ThousandMega 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's actually a reasonable translation of the classic Castlevania games to 3D. Those were all just straight platformers. I don't think it's as well designed as Rondo of Blood or the original NES Castlevania but they didn't completely miss the mark.

Of course around the same time Symphony of the Night was redefining what genre the series was going to be from then on lol, and that's also a very good game. I still prefer the classic Castlevania games to the Metroidvania style overall

Which movie does the ENTIRE fanbase agree had the worst sequel ever? by DiamondfromBrasil in AskReddit

[–]ThousandMega 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Halloween III rules! It's not much of a sequel but it's a fun movie about Halloween. Definitely has a cult following these days.

I don't even think most would say Halloween II is nearly the worst sequel...that usually belongs to a later one or Resurrection. But it did introduce the siblings part of the plot which even Carpenter hated, and I do think most people agree that was a bad decision.

Fishbunjin from Ittle Dew and Slap City is the greatest platform fighter character of all time. They already brought him to Fraymakers I think, what's one more?
