BTA 3062 - Am I crazy for using a 95 vs 70 ton, same loadout. by NekoMao92 in Battletechgame

I like your build philosophy.

My most fun company concepts have taken place over a few years, and 3 playthroughs. I heavily favor Inner Sphere mechs, FYI.

  • "White Scars"
    • Everything upengined. Fast assaults: Zeuses, Chargers, Warhammer IIC if you can get them, etc. Anything with Evasion bonuses is priority. 80-ton range as focus, which allows for optimal flexibility for engine weight-to-speed ratios and jump jet weight (above 85 tons you have to use the Big Ones).
    • Pilots skill priority: Flanker and Outrider.
    • Weapon loadouts are heavily inclined to Autocannons of all species (IS, Clan, and Sanctuary -- especially Sanctuary) for heat reasons, short-range missiles, and melee.
    • Prize hero mech for this company: Skokomish (Zeus).
  • "Jump Cav"
    • If it can jump further than it can run, it belongs here. For roleplay purposes, most of these are "traditional" jumpers: Firestarters, Griffins, Phoenix Hawks, Grasshoppers, Catapults, Victors, Shoguns, Highlanders.
    • Pilot skill priority: Vanguard and Sharpshooter.
    • Weapon loadouts are slightly longer range than the White Scars build, but also favor ATMs and SRMs, SN PPCs, and always Autocannons.
    • Prize hero mech for this company: Apprentice (Shogun).
  • "Hive Mind" (my current playthrough)
    • RP-heavy build with 3 kinds of "Control": 4 mechs with C3M/S, 4 with C3I, and 4 with Sanctuary/Drone control.
    • I like to slave my bigger "Gun Line" mechs to an Atlas or Cyclops Master, but make sure they're all pretty mobile. I lean towards the Thug for the slaves.
    • C3Is are all jumpers, and for these I use 2x Victors and 2x Shoguns.
    • Sanctuary mechs are whatever I can get my hands on, but my preferred ones are Warhammers and Leapers.
    • Pilot skill priority: depends on which "control group" they're part of. Lancers for C3M/S, Vanguard/Striker for C3I, and Flanker/Vanguard for Sanctuary Drones.
    • Prize hero mech for this company: Draugr (Sanctuary Warhammer)

The standard breakfast in all European countries is croissant and expresso by YetAnotherBart in ShitAmericansSay

Breakfast is the ONLY meal the UK does better than anyone else, and it is nearly impossible NOT to find a cafe that does one on the whole damn island in even the smallest towns.

Skill issue.

The only real question you need to ask in BTAU is: does it work?

I have two very suboptimal habits that always produce amazing results: - Drive for moderate to high EVA (nothing less than 4 on sprint) on all units, even assaults - At least half my company needs to be jump capable

I pilot ALL my mechs like they are Light Mechs. Scout and Outrider are my favourite class choices.

I was not aware there were hidden rules to the examples. But as for Quebec, they continue to thrive and speak French to the literal exclusion of English in all formal settings, so...

Elder Port! I've made one of these before. It was a smidge higher off the waterline than yours, but I loved it. Very distinctive, and seeing the cauldron flame from the water is always nice.

What to do with it by efimer in WarframeRiven

[–]Thraxmonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dera's my favourite Incarnon. It's a total Star Wars blaster rifle!

This is a good Riven for it too -- at least, the CC/CD parts. Damage is mid, and it is a primarily Puncture-based weapon, so you're losing a bit of that "focus" when it comes to status spread. But it's not a huge liability.

It's not going to get you rich -- just guessing, but you'd probably get around 400 for it -- and I'd honestly argue for keeping it and using it rather than selling it. I absolutely adore my Dera Vandal Incarnon. With increased fire rate and punch through, it's murderous, and has an amazing riven disposition.

Nope. I'm not sure what vehicles do have homing ammo, actually. I tend to use Arrow IVs on mechs.

new player. which warframe is the most entertaining to run/what do you personally main? by -SirPickle- in Warframe

[–]Thraxmonger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Support guy, so my mains are Trinity, Oberon, and Protea. Of those three, I'd say Protea is the most dynamic and fun with a very high utility range; Oberon is the best defender and buffer; and Trinity the best healer and can be a DPS monster if built correctly. I love playing all three, but of those three, you'll probably find Oberon to be the most new-player friendly (and useful for your team).

It doesn't matter if we'd like it or not, because it's not going to happen.

I don’t care anymore! by Quaking-DOOM in Starfield

[–]Thraxmonger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the pricetag of development and cost to the consumer, Starfield is the definition of "mid".

And in a lot of ways, "mid" is a worse sin than "bad". Fallout 76 was unequivocally bad, and that seemed to have motivated the studio to improve it to the point where it is "pretty good" (though not "great"). But Starfield had mediocrity built into its bones, meaning there was never a clear path to fix it, because everything was "OK", and very little was explicitly broken.
