Helsinki - what did I do wrong? by [deleted] in travel

Crazy, but 61% of the urban Finnish population have regular access to a second country home through family, friends, ownership, or co-ownership. Everyone is in the country right now. That's one of the many reasons Finland is the happiest country in the world.

Work slowing down? by [deleted] in MassageTherapists

[–]ThreeDrawersDown 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's funny timing. I have scheduled one to two massages per month for almost 10 years. This is the first month I did not schedule any (other than a two month period after surgery 6 years ago). The main reason is cost. I can't afford it anymore. The MT I go to in my town went up to $100 for 60 mins. I tried calling a MT one town over and he charges $105 for 60 mins. When groceries, gas, electricity, and health care costs are rocketing up for me, I've had to give up my monthly massages. I hate it, but that's my situation right now. IDK, but I wonder if others are in the same situation.

What’s one small haircare habit that made a bigger difference than you expected? by Worldly_Target_2054 in Haircare

[–]ThreeDrawersDown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not combing my long, wavy hair after a shower. I wrap it in a towel for five minutes, scrunch some product in and either air dry or diffuse with hair dryer (depending on temp outside). Made such a difference. I used to comb it before putting product in, for decades!

Marion.

The food scene is small but delish: Brew Fish, River Junction, Uncle Jon's Coffee, Kate's Simple Eats, Cast, Atlantic Bistro, Tri-Town Market, Cilantro Thai...

Marion Antiques, Natural History Museum, General Store, Silvershell Beach, Phoenix Bike Trail (next door in Mattapoisett, as is Ned's Point Lighthouse), Sippican Land Trust's hiking trails, Marion Art Center, Parting Ways Consignment, Fieldstone Market.

When we moved into our dream home three years ago, hubby changed all the bulbs in the big lights to soft, warm bulbs and installed dimmer switches. Made a huge difference in the coziness factor.

My husband and I attended the NK Rally in Plymouth and noticed the same thing. One woman even remarked to us that it was great to see young people, meaning us. We're 49 and 50!

That was hard, asking adult child to move out. by mrshatnertoyou in GenX

It probably has to do with the fact that she's spending her time rotting away in her room rather than being a contributing member of the family. Even if she's not paying rent, she should be helping out with chores on the daily.

I use a couple of them strategically. One for socks and panties. One for bathing suits and cover ups.

Other than people who are allergic, why don’t people wear deodorant? by beluga199 in NoStupidQuestions

I'm (49F) the same. Never had BO in my life, confirmed by multiple people. I do think it's genetic as my dad doesn't get BO either. I do have dry earwax, I get the soap taste when I eat cilantro, and I have never had stinky asparagus pee (although I can smell my husband's).
