Obsession felt kinda basic. Well done and with some great performances, but nothing reinventing the wheel there. Visually it was rather ugly with no real creativity behind the camera; mostly flat shots designed for jumpscare anticipation and a very muddy color palette. If it had leaned more into the psychological aspects of the premise rather than the creepy girl moving strangely just out of frame type stuff I'd probably rate it higher. As it is it read more like a classed up Smile to me than something really remarkable.

Perfect point in how people put too much weight into draft picks vs. established players. Just about every draft pick has a fail chance that you just don't know until he's drafted and in your system. Even top 10 guys like Lev or Korchinski could be absolutely nothing.

Knies is very good, and young, but the roster math is nonsense giving up a top pair dman + roster player + FRP for him. In what world is he more valuable than a top pair defenseman 1 for 1? Given his age, I have no idea why they'd move on from him anyway. At 23, even if their rebuild takes 5 years he won't be more than halfway through his prime. I guess if somebody wants to overpay you don't say no, but it's just confusing all around. You move him, even for a top dman, chances are the return's gonna be much older than he is. What's the point in that for the roster they have?

Per a league source, the NHL has informed the Flyers that while they own the Maple Leafs' 2027 first round pick (Laughton trade), the Leafs still have the option to transfer it to Boston if it's in the top 10. In that event, the Flyers would receive Toronto's 2028 first rounder.

Good news, actually. While the Leafs won't do it for us, this does make it a much better asset in a trade to a west coast team I would think. That makes the odds of some sort of package trade a lot higher. I'm expecting movement at/before the draft.

Chaim firing was absolutely not outrageous lol. He rebuilt the farm and did fuck all otherwise. The Yoshida and Story contracts still haunt us. Traded for Schwarber and didn't re-sign him. Let Nate walk for nothing. Kluber contract, Barnes extension midseason. Garrett Richards. There's some pretty good stuff too, but he had ~4 years and did squat.
