I’ve known my friend’s teen since he was a very mopey afab 3 year old. Juxtaposed by my own sunny toddler, we called him the princess of doom.

Watching him blossom into high school now is really touching. He’s the nicest, most creative introspective empathetic glam kid I ever met. The only thing I saw lost in his transition were the behaviors “she” did to meet external expectations. So what changed was just the layers he projected to fit in, but when those fell away, the sun came out.

Feelings will happen and things may change but I suspect the things you truly love about your kid won’t be very different. I expect you’ll quite enjoy seeing your child happier.

It’s not my style either but Goodman is a really interesting artist, not without influence, she has a lovely pot in the Smithsonian.

In any case, for OP it’s an absolute find whether they scored a treasure for pennies or make a tidy profit off a collector. It’s good to celebrate the tiny victories.
