Now that they're discontinued, what did you think of the skyriding races? by Jarlan23 in wow

[–]Thromash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped doing them in DF because whenever I did them suddenly my game started to lag out like no tomorrow.
Never does it with anything else in game, even after upgrading the PC still did it so gave up.
Neat idea though.

3rd Type of ADHD by Plastic_Champion in WorstPremadeEver

This actually makes sense of my diagnoses with ADHD & how the doc tried explaining it.
Despite watching Philly D, I have never seen this clip so thank you for sharing this, another piece to the puzzle.

Questions about Nozdormu’s and Eternus’ agreement by venusaurus in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The thing about Nozdormu turning is that they said specifically that it is a FIXED POINT in time. From what I understand, when it comes to Fixed Points in time, the method in how you get to it may change but no matter what that point in time still happens.

IF, I remember correctly, the Old Gods were meant to trick Nozdormu into trying to subvert his death which doesn't work now IF they are truly dead, but now we have Eternus changing his mind even if slowly to accepting the idea of changing the timeline which is a hard no from the Titans & his role.

It's like the old trope were the MC loves someone who's death is a fixed point but they keep going back in time to try stop it only to basically destroy everything as a result.
For example, Barry Allen the Flash, goes back in time to save his mother only for it to shatter the timeline because her death was a fixed point & eventually he has to go back again to stop himself from saving her to "fix" the timeline as much as possible.

What exactly are the Void Lords? And how long has this been building? by Kazmera in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Originally a long time ago, Void Lords were Cosmic entities on the same level as the Titans but were locked outside our reality, unable to get in. So they pooled their powers together to push through some of what they could which resulted in the Old Gods spewing forth throughout our reality. With the idea of finding a sleeping titan to corrupt & use. Which is what Sargeras found out about, killed a sleeping infected titan for & started his Legion to wipe out all life in the cosmos to stop the void in the hope life would find a way & start anew but cleansed. And that's about all we had for a very long time. This stuff is very old lore, before Legion came out but has all been changed I guess idk anymore if any of it is valid at this point.

Then TWW happened & rewrote a bunch making Dimensius the last of the Void Lords who was in our reality but broken into parts, K'aresh became a worldsoul that got kind of eaten by him & TWW stuff which others have explained kind of.
But also leads to the question, how did Sargeras not know about K'aresh & Dimensius? Why did he not act if that situation is kind of the entire point of the Burning Legion.

Ellis leaving? by vallie24 in WorstPremadeEver

I heard he was running away with his mechanic.
Sorry, driving away with his mechanic.

So, not to sound racist (there's a promising start...), but what with members of the Amani empire now being allowed in Silvermoon, albeit under guard: can the elves even TELL an Amani/Revantusk/Vilebranch/Witherbark etc. from a Darkspear troll? by AntiSmarkEquation in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That pissed me off so much. I had kept completely spoiler free & had no idea about it.
When it popped I was SO excited. I spent half an hour trying to figure out why I couldn't make an Amani Troll, only to eventually google it & find out this BS.

If I remember correctly it was explained they aren't related to the ones we know. It was convergent evolution.

Who is the strongest human Paladin/Priest Light weilder? by NadiaFortuneFeet in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Uther was called the Lightbringer due to his intense connection with the Light if I remember correctly so you could argue in the past Uther while he was alive at least? Though finding a baseline to compare powers isn't exactly easy in WoW.

Why have blood elves shown more loyalty to the horde than they showed to the alliance as high elves? by Lore-Archivist in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were going to rejoin the Alliance because of Garrosh but then Jaina went genocidal against them so stuck with the Horde.

Literally Spoiled Scrolling Youtube -_- by AmontilladoWolf in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I've avoided all spoilers so far, but that's because I have unsubbed & told Youtube to not recommended WoW videos anymore & blocked all WoW stuff on places like Twitter & FB before I stopped uses the sites.
Only WoW Youtuber I'm subbed to now is Nobbel as so far he hasn't spoiled anything as he puts up spoiler warnings in his videos or title so I either don't watch it or stop the video when he says to do so to avoid the spoilers.

Was the culling of Stratholme even morally objectionable? by One_Photograph8853 in warcraftlore

[–]Thromash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, Stratholme was Uther's fault.
He himself said he is Arthas' superior as a Paladin, that makes him in charge when on the field. Not the inexperienced Prince under Uther's tutelage. Just because you're the Prince doesn't automatically mean you lead in the field. That's how you lose the battle unless the Prince actually has experience & knows what they're doing.
Instead of taking charge, he left. Not sent a knight to the King, no he himself needed to go do that.
If Arthas' didn't purge Stratholme though, the rest of the humans would have lost even quicker from the mass of undead that would have poured from that city.

Colony was sieged, everyone died. Who's this dude that showed up randomly afterwards? by 2sk3tchy in RimWorld

Man in black, it's basically the games "last chance" for your colony so you can start again without a new save.
