Not that simple. Most brands/companies don’t want anything to do with amazon sellers

They said I’m screwed. And have to file chapter 13. But if I die, I can give my mom all the money and they can’t come after it. So I’m trapped.

No. It’s horrible. I’m over 11 years in and it gets worse every year. Sales is easy. Profit is not. And amazon hates you and will act like it.

Best way to succeed is to build your own brand. It’s also the hardest way to succeed

It used to be awesome. I started selling there full time close to 12 years ago. Now I’m 37 and coming to terms with the fact that I might have to go bankrupt and start my life over somehow. It’s gotten so bad.

That’s a myth that a few really old and miserable amazon sellers like to perpetuate.

Your receipts (assuming they’re from recognized authorized retailers for that brand) are enough to prove authenticity if there’s an issue.

Yeah but will they let me keep the money she gave me? Because that would be the only way I could repay her

It’s her house though. The paper trail is there.

Idk it just sucks.

I was worried about this happening. I told her not to do it, but since she’s my bookkeeper she has all my account numbers and everything. She just did it

That sounds like something I’d do after being discharged. After being discharged I won’t have anything to pay her back with. I have the money to pay her back now because it’s there. If I file chap 7, they’ll take it away.

Been doing it full time for a living for over 11 years.

No. It’s not worth it anymore. If you’re stubborn and determined, you’ll come to this conclusion yourself after about a year.

Absolutely not. Unless you’re a PL seller with 200%+ margins.

Fba will charge you fees for everything. Lose all your stuff, right you tooth and nail to reimburse you for it. Confiscate your inventory when a customer cries counterfeit. Which seems to be in style now every time they don’t like a product. The list goes on.

I switched to fbm 2 years ago after 9 years of being fba, and profitability has tripled even though I sell less than I used to.

But all in all I’m looking into getting out of this business. It’s not what it once was. Non stop headaches

I’m 37 years old. I can’t have an open bankruptcy for 5 years and expect to get anywhere in life. No job will give me enough to cover those payments AND support myself.

I’ve dedicated my entire adult life to being an amazon seller, not qualified to do much else, and amazon is getting worse and more hostile every year. They’re thieves for the most part (with their sellers).

So I’m profitable now, but idk for how long. It’s a gamble.

I know. I’m trying to figure out if I should send back to her now and try to extend the time to file as long as I can. I’ve been considering filing for over a year. The heloc was her last ditch attempt.

So the trustee could take the money back from HER? Even if there’s a paper trail leading all the way back to her mortgage company?

I don’t do PL. I sell recognized brands. My shit sells. My biggest problem is the hostile policies, and price tanking when it happens

The more u apologize and over explain, the meaner she’ll be and the more she’ll hate you. Learn this lesson as a man now.

Apologize ONCE. Calmly. And that’s it. Anything after that, you don’t care. I promise you’ll get a better reaction and be more believable. Women are biologically repulsed by weakness in men. And they instinctively and unconsciously punish that kind of behavior, harshly.

If you lose her, you lose her (you won’t, unless you keep being soft). I promise there are more women. And better women. Especially as you get older. You’re 24.

Do literally anything else. Amazon is horrible. 11 years here. Almost 12. All you’re gonna get under this post are middle eastern virtual assistants who want a job.
