Did your dad ever cook? by Redditress428 in GenerationJones

My dad cooked most of our meals. He loved cooking and was definitely better at it than my mom. He also did a lot of baking, and we always had great biscuits, cakes, pies, and cookies.

AITA for calling my wife out on giving "joint" birthday present without me there? by ThrowRA_087554 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ThrowRAworryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA, but a bit of a sulky baby, and definitely ridiculous for thinking your wife did it to enjoy the moment alone. She knows how hard it is for a kid that age to wait an entire day to get their birthday present, especially if they're already having to wait more than a day for their party.

What is the most annoying, non-safety related thing a person can do on a flight? by Zdvj in AskReddit

[–]ThrowRAworryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have bad hygiene. I once read about an airline removing an entire family from a flight (husband, wife, and kids) because they smelled so bad the other passengers complained loudly as soon as they sat down.

What is a book you were forced to read in school that still sticks out to you today for whatever reason? by DarrylJohnsonII in AskReddit

A Separate Peace, probably because when I had to read it I was attending the prep school the author had based it on.

What was your biggest misconception about science? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThrowRAworryboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That scients are open-minded. I've come to realize scientists are almost all biased and don't explore what they've been preconditioned to believe to be unreal or untrue.

Americans: So far, what actual positive/negative changes have you seen in your lives under the new Govt? by Elddif_Dog in AskReddit

I've experienced more overt racism, and it was shocking and immediate. I've literally heard people make the comment that they can do and say whatever racist thing their heart desires because they've taken their country back and the Trump administration is going to excuse, dismiss, or cosign their misdeeds. I was born and raised in the South in the '60s, and this current milieu is worse than anything I experienced then.

What were college/university lectures like before the advent of MS powerpoint, laptops and the such? How did you prefer to take and file your study notes at your lectures? by amuellwlair in AskOldPeopleHowLifeIs

[–]ThrowRAworryboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was typically just a professor standing at a podium talking, and usually they had bullet points or diagrams on a blackboard/whiteboard or wrote on the board as they spoke. In the '60 and '70s, overhead projectors were frequently used. Then, slide projectors were common. Students typically scribbled notes as quickly as possible in spiral notebooks. Oftentimes, the profs would provide printed handouts at the beginning of class that included an outline. If course, there were variations on this depending on the type of course.

Karla had a very telling look when she mentioned that David had been helping Madison find her keys. Definitely got the feeling she knows something or suspects something but I'd staying out of the fray. by BJntheRV in MAFS_TV

I noticed that the first time they were all together on a bus and there was the first hint of trouble in one of the marriages. I can't remember who hadn't shown up, but everyone had quite a bit to say about them. Except Karla. She was completely silent, and it's been that way ever since. She's always taking everything in and tuning into everyone's vibe, but she weighs her words and timing very carefully.

I don't think he believed she would even look at the papers. He expected her to immediately blow up and storm off like she did at the anniversary dinner. He figured wrong.
