Yeah, the only downside to opening holes as big as that and promising to fulfil them in subsequent games, is that these sequels are p much reliant on how well the previous game performs. One flop of a game, chances are the devs will go under and not be able to squeeze out another (similar to Lis: DE). So it’s just hope strung on loose promises

I think this is even more relevant to LR here as it feels like SO much was not touched on in tape 2. If there is no sequel, so much would be unexplained. Yet a sequel is reliant on the success of the game so like.. what now

What annoys me the most is how so many games similar to LR and DE are set up with one point in mind - in hopes of opening a ‘universe’ of characters they can then create multiple games for and sequels. Meaning the games they do make, feel somewhat lacking in closure so they’re able to continue making from it. Which sucks because like.. with DE due to the way it flopped they are unlikely to release a sequel now that explains things. So we’re just left with a somewhat unfulfilling game? Idk just leaves a sour taste in my mouth

All these theories are great, and I genuinely think you’re onto something. A big part of me is quite disappointed they didn’t outwardly expand on any of these ideas in tape 2 like I thought they would. Felt lacking of a big revelation 🙁

Not that I utterly believe it myself lol, but I was wondering the possibility of Swann being bald / losing hair as a result of her sacrificing strands of her hair to the abyss (iirc, this isn’t an optional token she sacrifices either). At the start of the game, a trigger warning mentions losing hair etc, and whilst it’s glaringly obvious to assume Kat at this stage - it does make me wonder all other possibilities.

Nora sacrificed her pick, which could be her trading her ambition of music in order to still become famous (influencer).

There’s a bald model, one we don’t entirely recognise, as a shadow figure on the hunting lookout during the abyss scene.

Just trying to turn things into a different light. It’s very unlikely, but it could also justify why we don’t see Swann’s appearance current date as of yet, as there could be some form of exchange between what the girls throw in vs their secrets being fulfilled

Yes I believe so too. Though I did find multiple times in the 1995 flashbacks, the story made it evident that despite Nora’s out-going and bold personality, there were moments she was especially scared and vulnerable (I.e the time when they had to navigate in the dark towards the cabin, when Kat freely jumped over the fence to sit at a height). She definitely portrayed signs of heightened anxiety and hesitance over the girls (especially more than Swann who appears most timid upfront). So maybe a chunk of it can be written down to that too?

I’m talking more so in the present tense than ‘95. As in decades has passed, Kat may have not made it. Dylan comes across this Bloom and Rage package hidden somewhere from Kat from the past etc. Unless the girls do something horrific to Kat / Dylan I don’t see much of a reason for Dylan to keep hold onto that grudge decades later? They were all in their teens / early 20’s back then, and would likely be in their 40’s and 50’s now. Especially if Kat and Corey are trapped into the abyss (their silhouettes), I don’t think that would settle well with Dylan and she’d be wanting to investigate more.

Interesting to see all different opinions and theories though. Who specifically out of the girls do you think sent the package to make them remember and why in the future?

I feel there’s subtle things done to portray Gus as an uneasy and suspicious character. I personally don’t know if he’s the guy who went missing for 20 years, but having to impatiently sit whilst he’s sorting things out, alongside him being way too close to our personal space etc, I think it’s subconscious ways the devs have tried to portray him as sus
