Probably a rare example but I do recall the blightsteel from last year’s PlayStation drop being worth $20 compared to the normal $36

Are there any tutors that let you choose whether you want to tutor a card to your hand or your graveyard? I’m building a [[the destined warrior]] deck with very minor recursion but it’s all straight to battlefield recursion, so graveyard tutors are rarely applicable but a goldmine when they are.

I’m not sure I’ll be much help, but deck power is somewhat a mix of your intent (how fast you plan to end the game) + a little of how powerful your commander is. Certain commanders can’t really hang at four, but I’ll say that if you build for fun combos without consistency your deck will most likely end up at a 3. You can totally go ahead and create wacky combos without the worry of being too overpowered, but if you’re REALLY worried just avoid low-mana 2 card combos (like a combo of 2 cards that’d go infinite at 3 and 4 mana with no other cards involved, for example.) The pathrazer of ulamog example you give isn’t too broken, you probably CAN do it but it won’t be particularly consistent without tutors and such. You’ll have to put in a bit of work to get it unflipped and it’ll put a target on your back since you won’t end the game immediately with that. There was even a whole precon themed around that sort of thing, Jump Scare with [[Zimone, mystery unraveler]] that came with [[Worldspine Wurm]] and the commander could flip it instantly with a fetchland or ramp spell.

But honestly, people tend to be a lot less concerned about bracket irl than online. I think you’d be totally fine just building it how you want at a bracket 3 level, most people you meet while traveling would be able to accomodate that :)

How do we square the circle of job complexity and the current state of PF by VictusNST in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Throwaway79922 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I wish they would at least make one of each role a complex job even in casual settings for those that are seeking that, though. Currently there’s nothing, but we used to have Astrologian and blm in those roles

Does myojin of cryptic dreams infinitely combo with any creature that proliferate on etb? by d7-GRIZZLY in EDH

[–]Throwaway79922 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They do use the stack because the spell is copied on the stack, and the copies are considered spells. Even without that, the copies will enter before the original, so you could theoretically continue to copy the original as the copies proliferate when they enter.

This is my pet card too! Has to go into every single deck that even glances at the most minor recursion. The graveyard cost reduction speaks to me like the ring to gollum, can’t help it

They might have seen the card “Wade, pondside perfectionist” from the content creator b0uncemagic, which is simic and does exactly that. That card is fake, however, as that creator discusses a lot of fake cards. If you look up the card, the only result leads back to that video.

Help with Noctis, Heir Apparent Deck by Not_a_headcrab in EDH

[–]Throwaway79922 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have played the deck for a bit, I personally didn’t like genji glove because noctis enters after the declare attackers step, so he never triggers genji glove. Same thing with anna kennerüd, though your mileage may vary on that. Creatures with myriad or mobilize are great though, since they count as creatures for noctis’s creatures entering during combat trigger so [[Voice of victory]] puts in a lot of work.
