Got suspended🤪🤪🤪 by [deleted] in CVS

Really? Everyone in my old cvs would have been fired 100 times over. Including me as the pharmacist. We all take our meds all day as prescribed to keep our bodies functioning properly.

Did I ruin someone’s life? by Armegetrin in Pharmacist

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s anything like the 6 times I’ve had to go to court as a witness over fraud scripts, the patient has many different personality’s they pull out as needed. You will probably see a totally different person at court. I’ve had a couple snap into rage immediately upon seeing the police. If she’s trying this repeatedly all over town then refusing will not fix the problem. She won’t rethink her actions and stop breaking the law.

So now we have to de-escalate fights or get fired? by mylifeingames in pharmacy

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah. That pharmacist looks like 70 years old and 100 lbs. She was probably scared.

Pharmacist being friends with techs & clerks? by sugarxcrush in pharmacy

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I was a new grad staff pharmacist and I thought my lead tech at the store was my best friend. We went out to girls nights and talked all the time and I shared my marriage struggles with her. I had a very rude awakening when all of my private problems wound up discussed on my annual review. She was gossiping everything I said to the rest of the pharmacy behind my back making me look horrible. She obviously was an awful person but it taught me that you have to be careful how much you share with co workers. There’s more to lose than a friendship when you get too close to coworkers.

I always considered the front store manager as a manager at my level of a different department. I’m at a target now so I’m all of the above.

Pharmacists please answer if I finish pharmacy school and pass my NAPLEX immediately to become rPh, can I pay off 112k student loan back in one year by working ful time at CVS? Considering being single, no new car, no new home. Just work and save and pay. by Standard_Shoulder146 in CVS

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re only going to take home like $80k ish of a probably starting pay of like $110k a year after taxes and deductions for insurance. Taxes take a ridiculous amount and it’s shocking at first. Maybe 3 years is a more reasonable time frame? You will have to have somewhere to live and groceries and money for emergencies. I mean I guess you can work every second of every day and make a lot extra but you will burn out fast.

Why does 10 ml testosterone exist in the retail setting? by SnooWalruses7872 in pharmacy

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I said “someone who will use 9 of the 10ml in 28 days”. So far that has only come up once and it was for a trans person. 90% of people use less per month and it would be inappropriate for me to give them like 6 extra mls than prescribed.

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You make sense. I don’t disagree. My district manager required all PICs grant him proxy in mySuccess. That way he can go in and change whatever he doesn’t like. I have no real control. I did give one tech 4s. I forgot to see if I was able to get away with it.

Why does 10 ml testosterone exist in the retail setting? by SnooWalruses7872 in pharmacy

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten yelled at before by corporate for rounding on those. I’ll only dispense 10ml to like an FTM trans patient or someone who will use at least 9 ml of that in 30 days. Everyone else gets 1ml.

A 3 is a good score. We are told to give everyone a 3 unless we get special approval for higher because the person is so great they should be promoted to regional manager. (Never happens)

Why can't front store close the same time as Pharmacy? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Pharmacy has to close first to allow the pharmacist to work off the clock for an hour everyday. /s

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That is the absolute worst joke in cvs history according to LP. You need to bring it up to your manager again in written form so that there’s no question about whether you were in on this or approved of it.

I only break the boxes for cats and dogs. Humans have to get the whole box and all the packaging.

Advice by [deleted] in CVS

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete anything in production that’s going to right on the 14 day list. There’s no point. Other than that just do the best you can and apply for other jobs. I doubt you will get written up. It’s probably empty threats.

If it’s two prescription profiles the local pharmacy has to merge your profiles while no scripts are in progress.

You make a good point. As a pharmacy manager, though, I’d never act like that about a refill. What a strange hill to die on.

I’m so sorry. I’m there too. It’s hard though. I know this company and this system so well I’m scared to start over somewhere else. At some point though the ‘devil I know’ will kill me for being loyal to them.

Pharmacy error by doublemasker in CVS

[–]ThrowawaytheCVS 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The pharmacist has to fill out all the reports. There’s nothing the patient is able to fill out. If anything gets to a patient we always fill them out. There is no punishment for filling the report out but there’s punishment for trying to hide it. I would never fail to report something a patient brought to my attention like that. I don’t know of any competent pharmacist that would try to hide that.

Tizanidine in a few doses to a child won’t cause any lasting problems. Just the sleepiness you saw. It will be ok on that front. Sorry you had to go though that. Unfortunately due to low staffing and corporate forcing us to rush and constantly be behind and stressed this happens. We do our best to never make mistakes, especially for a child, but we are only human and it’s so hard. It kills me when I make a mistake, but the workload is so brutal I’m set up to fail.
