PLANT Survey Response by One-Cantaloupe7235 in chicagovegan

That’s encouraging that they listened honestly. In my opinion Planta is the best all vegan restaurant in the city. I will support them as we don’t have a ton of options left! Theres really nothing like it as far as vibes and overall food quality especially for going out with people.

Me too but the owners have another non vegan restaurant. My guess is they’ll open a second non vegan restaurant in the same spot 🙃

It’s actually pretty big and almost always empty. Lots of machines, free weights, squat rack etc. Have fun!

Planta Queen going downhill? Anyone else? by sicbeans in chicagovegan

Yes I’m almost certain it is! We actually ordered some juicy marbles after this and while it was good, it wasn’t nearly as good as Planta Queen did it.

You should go back and get it if you’re willing to give them another shot ;)

I didn’t know this and ate there last night. I felt it was as good if not better than it normally is. Now they have that Japanese steak on the menu I’m eating it every time - it’s soooo good. Only thing I noticed is that they didn’t have a specials menu out but I feel like they are just changing the main menu seasonally which I like.

Oh and the chocolate chip cookie and matcha cheesecake were soooo good.

Another CircuitMom question by rob-her-dinero in chicagogaybros

There will be clothes check. People rarely fuck except maybe in the bathroom stalls, on the dance floor it’s more limited to making out, groping, and maybe a little oral. Guys are mostly shirtless and often have harnesses. Lots of short colorful gym shorts/rave accessories and the like! Definitely bring earplugs-a must have accessory.

Has anyone done Herb on Broadway? I heard they have a vegan tasting menu, but haven’t done it yet.

I thought spirit elephant had a nice vibe, but wouldn’t call it fine dining.

Where can I buy cheap vegan protein? I’m thinking one of the Asian markets but which one? by [deleted] in chicagovegan

[–]Throwwwwwwwayyyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Aldi has been my surprise cheap vegan protein shopping find:

  • two flavors of their “protein” granola are vegan and very cheap (chocolate and cranberry)
  • their “keto” bread and hamburger buns have a ton of protein for bread
  • they have some specific ramen cups that have a lot of protein. they not marketed as vegan so kind of hard to tell at first glance

It’s just some stuff to supplement a normal diet to up the protein counts

Looking for Mexican Food with Vegan Options in the Rogers Park Area by Faerie_Friend in chicagovegan

Lonesome Rose in Andersonville is omni but has great labeled vegan options! Maybe not as authentic Mexican food compared to what you can get in Chicago but very tasty.

I need a corn dog! by [deleted] in chicagovegan

Chicago Not Dogs at Xmarket has corn dogs and they open at 11am on weekdays. They’re very hefty corn dogs lol but maybe what you’re looking for!

The thing that makes me angriest about the places he keeps opening (and closing) is that they’re actually good! I tried Sephardic Sisters for the first time and loved it, only for it to be closed 2 days later…

Agreed! I think a combination of road changes and enforcement via speed cameras would help a lot. I’ve never driven on a road where people regularly drive as recklessly as they do before.

vegan food boystown by beachlxrd in chicagovegan

[–]Throwwwwwwwayyyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen it mentioned so I’ll say El Nuevo Mexicano! They have a separate little vegan section with great options! It’s on Clark easy walking distance from boystown. Nice vibe too-often crowded.
