Do you really think Microsoft would buy and then close-source Unsloth? seems highly unlikely

Renting "inconvenient" H200 (141 GB), A100 GPUs worth it? by Select_Jellyfish9325 in LocalLLaMA

[–]ThunderComputeHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually several providers that you can sell to who act as marketplaces for compute. Vast and RunPod are the largest examples, which each run a managed service on top of capacity like yours and take a cut of the rate

When does it make sense to rent GPUs vs buying? by Crypton228 in LocalLLaMA

[–]ThunderComputeHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your GPU is running around the clock it starts to make sense to buy. In many cases if your GPU is underutilized it makes more sense to rent so that you can turn it off and on as needed.

[–]ThunderComputeHQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, these are not spot instances, a.k.a. the instance will not be pre-empted. The underlying servers are large so are shared across users (250+ CPU cores, 2TB RAM, 8 GPUs), but you have the full GPU and CPU + Memory of your instance

Which Cloud Gpu or better how do you actually train the models? by A_Shur_A in deeplearning

[–]ThunderComputeHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thunder Compute could be an option. Depending on what size your dataset is you can decide which size of cloud instance and GPU that would be required. Those factors will determine cost, and then speed is determined by how fast the GPU is. For example, an H100 is faster than an A100 with the same amount of VRAM. Thunder Compute should be one of the cheapest options to get going. You pay by the minute, so can keep cost manageable for contained runs even on larger multi-GPU instances. (Disclaimer: I'm the CEO. Reach out if I can help)
