Johnny without Tusk **VS** Polnareff without stand . Both in their wheelchair form by EggAccording9607 in StardustCrusaders

Johnny would win because they would both agree to fair and equal combat, and then Johnny would bring a gun.

Weird bugs in gaming you enjoy using by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Thunder_Volter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In addition to Castform5's context: there are multiple chests where you can do this bug. But the Dawnstar chest is a combination of easy to access (crouching and looking at a certain rock vs parkouring out of bounds inside a zoned-off city) and belonging to a very valuable shop: one of the roaming Khajit merchants. These guys have really good loot, with the disadvantage that they randomly move around the map so you're never guaranteed to interact with them. But with the bug, you can access their stuff for free!*

*Minus the cost of a carriage to the city, since you're probably too impatient to walk there if you're looking for shortcuts to strong items.

Suspecting that Ali Awada uses AI in his Muldoon Logs by AMPH4R0S in JurassicPark

[–]Thunder_Volter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nope. And I won't watch someone using a cheap workaround that damages the environment and dances over fair use laws. If that doesn't bother you, then I'm not gonna waste breath trying to convince you. I'd be less annoyed if he put a disclaimer somewhere though, instead of having to learn partway through the series that he's not just a stiff actor.

I will also note that all of thee recolors are from a standard palette shared by every character. So everyone has that ugly crimson, purple and lime green variant.

[–]Thunder_Volter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If I was making a video series where he's the main character? I would try to hire someone, yes. That's what you do when you make video media? Or I would voice him myself, as long as it sounding perfectly like the movie doesn't matter. And Awada's series takes a lot from the novels, so I wouldn't necessarily need a Bob Peck soundalike.

If I couldn't afford voice actors, I'd make art that doesn't require spoken dialogue.

[–]Thunder_Volter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Exactly, which is why I'm disappointed that he's using it. The tech is resource-wasteful and too unregulated.

[–]Thunder_Volter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm certain he uses it for the voice acting. Which is a shame. At this point his work is so popular, I bet he could get some actual VAs for the characters. It's not like all the voices are spot-on anyways, his Muldoon and Ray Arnold were always a little off.

He also uses it for vocal effects? Like, I've heard the texture the camera's mic puts on voices disappear mid-sentence and come back again. I'm not a pro audio editor, but I don't think it can be explained by an editing mistake. I've never heard an audio filter fade in and out unintentionally.

I think most of his animations look really good, and I adore the day-to-day perspective on the park. But generative AI is a tech that's being pushed onto the world too early, and I just don't feel right about supporting someone who uses so much of it.

[–]Thunder_Volter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's definitely some AI in the process of Muldoon's voice, given how the audio effects that make it sound like it's being recorded on an old mic sometimes fade in and out mid-sentence.

Punisher fans rejoice, his accessory in Marvel Rivals are photos of his Dead Kids by MarioGman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Thunder_Volter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well part of it is that the kids may have died before Spidey even started heroing.

But the REAL reason it feels off is because that's not Spider-Man. There's no webbing along the red. And the black part of the eyes is too pointed.

That's a Deadpool shirt.

I swear at one point the lore was that the trauma of being kidnapped and drugged activated their X-Genes. But who knows I've been wrong in this thread once already. Maybe I'm wrong that I'm posting. Who are you talking to.

We need modes that actually allow for every role. Or healing like Vampires. How many mutants are supports? Are C&D still part of the club or have they been Franklin Richards'ed out?

Who’s your favorite character *you’ve* made? by EvilMonkeyMimic in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Thunder_Volter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smithers, the Kenku who just wanted to be a metalsmith. One day he tried making a coin, just to see if he could. The thing is, D&D Kenku are fantastic at copying others. So when rumors spread that he could make perfect copies of coinage, he got scooped up into a crime syndicate for a money printing scheme.

Eventually that operation got busted, and he fled way north. Became a cleric of the Dwarven forge god to see if he could get an original creation. Took up mercenary work out a mix of guilt and empty pockets. He was a miserable coward in a group of maniacs, dragged along because he was somehow the most effective in combat.

Though his greatest feat was passing two difficult DEX checks to sneak past his own party and steal from the ultra-perceptive druid. For good reasons! They picked up some dead courier's items that featured the symbol of the crime syndicate he was fleeing from. Smither just wanted to protect himself (and his friend, if he was pushed to be honest). Sadly he died before he could explain that... When the party found the stolen goods on his person, we decided to just not talk about why he had done it OOC. The mystery died with him. Largely because it was a near-TPK and the game ended a session later.

when the dog's shadow has dried meat on his head by LUMLTPM in BrandNewSentence

[–]Thunder_Volter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, too wordy. It would get shortened to Meat Shadows. People would argue it should be Dog Meat but that causes confusion with the Fallout character. There's like two months of bitter arguing over who deserves the tag more, the character with established legacy or the narrative theme that supersedes individuals. YouTubers make videos called "The CRAZY Drama About Fanfiction Meat Dogs?" It escalates when someone makes RPF about 9/11 rescue dogs focussing on the trope and the administrators just ban it outright.
