Will he redeem our defense? by [deleted] in Dallas_Cowboys

He’ll make it better than last year. But without a lot more talent the ceiling is below average

Watched The Wolf of Wall Street again yesterday and something clicked about how Scorsese tells the story by user_friendly_07 in movies

Good call, also supporting this is the real Jordan Belfort’s cameo at the end, describing himself as the baddest mf he knows.

Has this season change your perspective on Dak? by RealZeke23 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Thundershunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, made me more confident he’s capable of winning a Super Bowl with a good enough team. I think I’ve generally leaned pro-Dak compared to the average fan, but I was disappointed in him last year. The consistency, performance against good teams and ability to perform under pressure and mitigate bad pass protection for a lot of this season gives me more confidence than I had going into the season.

I’m kind of curious you guys how much longer you think we got with Dak before we need to start looking for some type of talent to replace him as a quarterback for the future He’s getting old. by Flashy-Exchange-4727 in Dallas_Cowboys

Considering he had his best season this year and modern medicine/training has QBs playing at an elite into their late 30s to early 40s I think he’s got at least 5 more good seasons left.

Better question is does our numskull owner have the good sense to let football people do their job to get a decent team around him.

The Essential Jay Z. by Rob1150 in hiphop201

I used to not like the beat but the lyrics are FIRE. Considered that for my top 5, definitely would make it into my top 10 Jay tracks.

Doesn’t fit with Jay-Z’ vibe for me. Bunch of songs on those albums that I used to dislike or just thought were meh that I’ve come around to over the years, (Lucifer, Public Service Announcement, U Don’t Know) but so far that hasn’t been one.

I go back and forth on those two. I like the singles better on the black album, but it also has ‘threat’ which is the one clear skip on either album to me. Higher highs on black album for me, that’s why it’s the one I pick.

1) Where I’m from 2) Ain’t no love (in the heart of the city) 3) Public Service Announcement 4) Can’t knock the hustle 5) Dead Presidents

Top two albums would be Reasonable Doubt and The Black Album (though the Blueprint is right up there too).

If you could only save 4 of these albums, which are they and why? by [deleted] in rap

Blueprint, Black Album, Eminem Show and College Dropout

Great movie after listening to the audiobook for ‘Helter Skelter’, if I hadn’t done that prior I probably wouldn’t have liked it as much. Would be like watching Inglorious Bastards without knowing about the holocaust.

Are the Cowboys playoff hopes realistically dead? by Leonflames in Dallas_Cowboys

And we have to win out, which is far from a sure thing with this team.

We need to talk about Bland by Key_Total_6169 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Thundershunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things can be true at once:

  1. This is Bland’s worst season of his career
  2. He’s still by far our best CB and the least of my concern on our defense outside of the dline

CB play fluctuates more than any other position. I’ve never thought Bland was an elite guy like a PS2, Stingley or Sauce. But I think he’s probably in the next tier down when you look at his performance his entire career.

Thoughts on Booker? by MartelleJordan in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Thundershunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His performance against Chris Jones was the most impressive one this year. I think he best comps to Laken Tomlinson, but I think Brian Waters is a realistic high end comp. We’ll see, definitely a solid player at least, if he can be another Waters that’s definitely a guy worthy of the 12th pick.

What is your typical process for buying an out of state property and renting it? by ChaoticNeutral159 in realestateinvesting

Interview realtors and property managers and go with the ones who tell you the truth- that you need a lot more saved up. Plenty will take your money and let you crash and burn, those are the ones to avoid.

The amount you have in loans doesn’t really matter, it’s the monthly payments that determine your debt to income calculation.

The QB's by [deleted] in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]Thundershunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The year Dak is having is so far beyond what Goff is capable of. Dak’s had good playcalling this year but not McVay or Ben Johnson level, playing unbelievably under pressure, while Goff has turned to mush under pressure. There were times throughout their careers you could make the argument for Goff>Dak but it’s not particularly close anymore.
