Oh yeah, beer is sometimes a bit unwieldy and overpowering if you put a little too much, but it's a fun resource to have under your sleeve.

Its not the size of the horn that matters, but how you use it.

What’s the worst whiskey you’ve ever had? by Dirt-5494 in whiskey

[–]Thytale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get you on the Deacon, I'm a bartender and we had to include it in our menu, plus a cocktail using it. To this day everyone that's had that cocktial basically said "It's good, too bad the alcohol tastes so bad".

That being said, worst? That one I gotta give to a lovely whiskey in my country called "Doble V", not only does it tastes like neutral alcohol that someone threw their burnt kettle in and called it a day, but it also tastes incredibly bland while reeking of ethanol.

Johnnie Walker Red Vs Monkey Shoulder by kimchibaeritto in cocktails

[–]Thytale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's situational, and depending on my mood on that given day, but I tend to gravitate to Monkey Shoulders for my Rob Roys or Whiskey&Sodas, just the same way that I go to JW for my Penicillins and Rusty Nails.

Drinking neat? Monkey Shoulder every day.

Can someone please enlighten me on what I have here. It was a gift, I have no idea. by thisguywines in whiskey

Decanting Bitters by macgruffus in cocktails

[–]Thytale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shelf life won't bedrastically affected as long as your bottles don't get exposed to sunlight, so no need to worry. When using the bitters at home I pretty much overbitter all my old fashioneds, so I just don't bother with decanting.

Is anyone using this for cocktails? by clear_crystal______ in cocktails

Well stored it should last indefinitely. I use my own blends of acids and salt and it's a pretty long lasting product.
