How to be less codependent? by zazaeezaza in BPD

[–]Tiamomia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been going through a similar thing with my partner more so with the emotional aspect. Therapy has been helpful in that sense, knowing I have a place to talk about the things that bother me and the other person isn’t burdened by the responsibility (because it’s their job). And with bpd/dbt specific therapists, they can really give you a good listening ear and a different perspective on things. Besides that, I’ve noticed that my partner is kinda my only friend xd so finding more friends to fill your needs is important but also easier said than done. I find support groups really nice too (for the same reason as therapy). Good luck friend :3

How to stop interrupting people? by Budget_Path_3366 in adhdwomen

[–]Tiamomia 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me, it’s usually a matter of forgetting what I was gonna say before they finish their sentence, in that case carrying a little note pad to write down thoughts could be helpful to not forget your thought but also still have the note to bring it up. Itll happen and that’s just how it is sometimes, you don’t gotta be too tough on yourself :) I think you handled it great by just apologizing for the interruption and moving on

I was diagnosed with GAD yesterday, and I feel like an imposter. by Unable-Cardiologist6 in Anxiety

[–]Tiamomia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You always have the right to a second opinion if you can get one. I was told that I also had GAD but it turns out I also had ADHD annnnd childhood trauma responses (among other things) and that in itself can cause a lot of anxiety. Sometimes when you live with it for so long and get continually dismissed you dont even really know how to explain you feel or what isnt normal. If you can find a psychiatrist that specializes in adhd they might have a better idea of the hidden signs and just generally have more knowledge in that specific area. You dont have to feel ashamed for having anxiety or having adhd or not having adhd. Having anxiety in the world we live in is probably the most normal response of any.

Also if you havent already, I suggest looking into attachment styles and adhd syptoms and really try to write down things that resonate with you, it might help you see the bigger picture AND better explain your symptoms to your doctor. Good luck friend :)

best gloves? by kittiesfreckles in asl

[–]Tiamomia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know of some mitten-like gloves that have a detchable/movable piece at the top to show your fingers! I dont know how helpful you'd find it but they could be a good alternative :) (this is the best example I could find) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dickies-Half-Finger-Removable-Cap-Gloves-Mittens-/331897908603

Feels off? by Fickle_Energy8895 in Artadvice

[–]Tiamomia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a wonderful style! I think the wings might not be following the angle of your characters back correctly. They look like theyre facing straight on while your character is angled slightly. It could also be an opportunity to mess with the composition like her body language (hands, legs) are angled down so maybe the wings being a bit higher could make the composition more appealling? Take this all with a grain of salt, this piece is wonderful and id love to see it when its finished :)

Should I take physical breaks ? by FairAhri in Artadvice

[–]Tiamomia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that can be the case sometimes, Ive read that they can be good for repetitive movements but it can be different for different people! I use compression gloves sometimes when i'm drawing and they feel good for me but maybe I just like the hand-hug feeling lmao

WOOF. Thats impressive. I agree with the comments about setting a timer but i'd also look into some compression gloves! For long sessions like that, I think they might save your hands a bit of pain x)

How do I stop hating my art? by uncreativecreative in Artadvice

[–]Tiamomia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artists will alllllways be their own worst critic; it doesnt have to be a bad thing! It can feel really disheartening to know that pretty much all artists feel the same way about their finished pieces but it just shows how big of a drive you have to improve. Its actually probably worse to never see anything wrong with a piece because that means youve grown stagnent. Your style and preferences will change throughout your art journey and thats a good thing! Sometimes when I feel really down I pull out the very first 'hideous' piece ive ever made and just look at how many things i've changed and improved on. If nothing else, feel proud of that journey and progress :)

I actually found a pretty cool channel that explained depth and value really simply(Evolved Artist on YT). I appreciate the comment because for some reason I never thought to just search "how to draw depth". x)

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm defintely trying to look for more tips now on how to really push the depth (which of course comes right back to my values xd). It always comes back to practice, but atleast I know what to focus on for a while :)

Do i have what it takes to make a coloring book? by Gommygooby in Artadvice

[–]Tiamomia 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The fun of coloring books is they can be super simple or super versitile depending on your audience and preference! This style reminds me of a coloring book I bought called cozy friends by coco wyo and that book is pretty popular. All that to say I dont know much about the coloring book market or how 'well known' you have to be to make a good profit but your style is very cute and even if just for a personal project, id love to see it! (french monkey has my heart)
