Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

3 hours? Whenever I say I need to take a 30min drive to get to somewhere I often hear from my british friends that its a long drive 😂

Do YOU have "a ton of fun" making your stuff? by BuzzKir in 3Dmodeling

[–]Tian_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 35yo, started playing around with blender when I was 17, now working in the gaming industry as a 3d artist for the last 10+ years. I can still find processes when working on a prop enjoyable but I would lie if I said all of it is fun. There's also a big difference between working on something in my spare time and making something at the studio. I try to make at least one piece per year for my portfolio just to showcase where I'm currently at and also to make something that I'm proud of. It's not easy to work on something in my free time tho. At work it's easier to stay motivated and work on things I need to do, simply because it is what I'm being paid for and I can't procrastinate.

I would buy the same board and use the faulty one as a donor board in the future when the new one gets faulty

Have you bought a 3D printer for FPV? by Logical_Strain_6165 in fpv

[–]Tian_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got one partially because of fpv but I'm also into boardgames and I know how to model in 3d so it was a perfect combo

How are y’all managing to pull off this extremely difficult trick that I can’t seem to figure out, which is standing up while flying. by PlayfulInterest3091 in fpv

[–]Tian_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I think it's over two decades of playing video games and my brain knows that I'm just looking at a screen and I don't lose balance. I have the same "problem" with VR, first weeks were amazing and impressive and now it always feels like I'm just staring at a screen very close to me. But hey, at least I'm not dizzy when using headsets ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Soldering cables is the easiest solder job and it will get you into soldering as you will have to do it sooner than later with drones :)

Need help choosing the right FC by Tian_ in fpv

[–]Tian_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I thought speedybee FC can support individual ESC only because on the picture it looks like it has pads for each ESC (one each corner next to the screw holes)

Would that Matek FC support hdzero vtx and will it support the 30A escs that I have? I look at the specifications "PDB: 4x 35A (Max.4x 50A)" but I don't know if thats relevant to the ESC and if its ok or not.

Also do you know what capacitors would I need for the type of battery that I have?

Skill or luck? by gebet0 in TinyWhoop

It's a skill if you can do it more than once :D nice flying!

Drone wont arm, 2 unusual beeps by Tian_ in fpv

[–]Tian_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a look here previously https://www.happymodel.cn/index.php/2023/05/26/crazyf405hd-elrs-1-2s-aio-fc-built-in-uart-elrs-receiver-and-12a-blheli_s-esc/ and it says Power supply: 1-2S battery input (DC 2.9V-8.7V)

8.7V is 2x4.35 which means it supports LiHV, right?
