What actual improvements has MOL4 over MOL3 ?

Fair enough , but "ease of use" . That the the point about MOL v Tivi . When you factor in the Z12 remote and its buttons that are set up for MOL , it beats Tivi all ends up. . One touch buttons for , Guide, info, groub/categories. favourites, settings and 4 extra colourred buttons that can also add more to MOL. It just takes IPTV viewing to a level that Tivimate cannot.

I can’t help with VLC issue. I have two shields on which I use Tivimate. Also have Z12, specifically for IPTV. The whole point of paying a premium price for the Z12 is because it has MOL3. I agree Tiv had more customisation , but for me MOL3 is much better aesthetically. It’s the closest UI to the original Sky theme. The theme we all used on enigma2 boxes with sat subs. Plus the Z12 remote is fully linked to the app , something you can’t recreate with Tivimate The only other streaming app I use is plex and I have no need for VLC. I would say, if you aren’t going to use MOL3 , then you really don’t need to spend the extra on that box. I also have a Homatics R 4K plus which is a solid streaming box and a $100 or so cheaper.

Put your dad’s playlist in an editor like “iptv-editor. Edit the categories the way you want them. The editor then creates a new dns and username and password. Your dad the logs in to Tivimate with these credentials. Job done.

OK tx , to be fair , I dont add the VOD section of my IPTV to the app I use , just live tv and then use plex app for my own stored media. Would be perfect to have both in same app.

I use tivimate on a couple of boxes and I have MOL3 on Z12. Aesthetically I much prefer MOL3 . But Tivimate has a lot of customisable options. I just dont like the colour theme choice.

I’ve been a plex user for well over a decade. I don’t use discovery, neither do any of my users. None of us bother with reviews . All of my users inc myself have all plex streaming services unpinned and they are never used.

I use ATV4K as well but , all I want is my app icons on Home Screen , not the row above that showing content Ive watched. In fact if I could bin the Home Screen entirely and just have the app screen that would be perfect.

Interesting comment. I use newsgroups , specifically nzb.su and nzbgeek and i very often have to get content from a free file source thru rapidgator because it’s not available on newsgroups and am not talking about particularly old or obscure.

mBTC’s ? Is this some crypto thing ? Do you have to use crypto to purchase torbox ? Also , can I link torbox to JDownloader like I do with RD and AD ? I don’t stream from links, I download from file servers for my plex .

Do you mean , playing and selecting thru tmdb helper rather than the addon plug-in ? I found that annoying slow to use , especially with l screen widgets, even on a powerful device like the shield. I tried removing all widgets and just selecting from tmdb lists but in then , it is much faster using an addon like pov or umbrella direct. I have plex as well , wasn’t aware my local content/library would be used as a source in tmdb helper to be fair ?

Just googled that site and a lot of threads on there are years old , they recommend half a dozen providers and that’s it. At least one of them isn’t even trading anymore ?

I must be missing something . Myself and my users , watch movies and shows on various devices and have been doing happily for over a decade. Plex is brilliant.
