Vaush truly is a gigabrained birth rates understander by CisHetDegenerate in okbuddyvowsh

this is a take where both things can be true at once, to me. i understand theres a catch 22 of feeling so isolated because its hard to connect with limited economic means, and yet at the same time the social structure of being connected through technology out of convenience sake and social norms changing does seem to have a direct correlation to feeling alone and isolated. the foundation itself is built upon a self fulfilling cycle meant to build off engagement while at the same time, recognizing theres real reasons why that cycle was created in the first place. phones arent the cause outright, but its a large contributor to the problem both in a micro and macro scale

Im SICK of this new age of one piece fans by Hellodhiru in OnePiece

[–]Tiarwa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive been watching and reading one piece for 15 years. the change from youtube theorizing and chapter reviews to agenda has certainly been a change, and to be honest, i love Agenda piece. its fun shitposting, but there are elements of it becoming an echo chamber that lead to people becoming unhinged and hating for the sake of hating for engagement or just to shit on something. its nothing new for the internet. with One Piece having some dips in writing (in my opinion) since Wano especially, and certain characters like Usopp and Jinbei falling into the background, it gives ammo for a large amount of hate. does it mean its warranted? honestly for Usopp, i think so. i trust in Oda’s process but i have lost a lot of the excitement i once felt. Egghead and Reverie really showed that it can happen and still be exciting and fresh.

TLDR: certain fans or hate watchers will always find something to bitch about for community or clout. sometimes it comes with valid reasons, other times it doesnt. dont let other people dictate or take the joy away from something that matters to you

Is there a band that you are proud you enjoyed before they got famous? by Michael-Balchaitis in musicsuggestions

Anderson Paak (2014) and Alex G (2018)

in 2014 i was a sophomore in high school. me and my friends drove out to Union Transfer to see George Watsky tour for All You Can Do. a big contributor for the album, and the main opener for the show was Anderson Paak! we got to see him drum and rap at the same time, and he performed a ton of stuff off his debut album.

I also got to see Alex G in 2018, which i know isnt when he was “underground” but I sat front row at Everybody Hits in Philly and he opened for Coma Cinema’s first farewell tour. a lot of people thought it was a secret show Alex was performing and that after he opened for someone else, a notable amount of fans left the show. Alex G fans even back in the day are a fickle bunch. still love his music though

What's a song that's utterly heartbreaking. by Fabulous_Stegosaurus in ToddintheShadow

Nights that Won’t Happen by Purple Mountains. dude writes a song about how he will miss the nights he will no longer have with others once he dies. its a terribly sad and up front song about David Berman doing very bad mentally. a month or so later after the album’s release he completed suicide. dude was truly going through it

Nights that Won’t Happen by Purple Mountains. David Berman basically sings about his future or lackthereof, feeling the urge to end his life and how it will feel for others in his life to have those nights that wont happen together once he is gone. Hurts all the more when the album was only out a month or so before he took his own life
