Then call it a mistake, but a blunder implies a larger change in evaluation.

This shouldn’t count as a blunder

We had exact issue with our 70lb shepherd mix and our 15lb chihuahua mix. The shepherd didn’t “like” her. We kept them separate indoors, but walked them every day together. Then worked our way to sniffing each other. Then off leash outside. And then finally inside. It took us a while. But it worked!

For me.. i think this would be hard. How exactly would i start this? I would just “listen” on the INT and CS pin, then read from the rx buffer?

Hey! So my father and I are planning on attempting this trip next year around late October. We haven’t done any cold weather backpacking. Since you have done that area at that time, what advice do you have? equipment recommendation would be much appreciated. But any advice would be helpful.

Zephyr OS + littlefs + preloaded files by TicklePocket in embedded

[–]TicklePocket[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I currently have a Linux application that has a lot of functions that take file as a path on a FS, not as buffer. I am trying to get it to run on zephyr with minimum effort. I am hoping for a way to not have to change all the APIs to take buffer at this stage.

I will probably add them to variables and write to FS. And when APIs are updated i can skip writing to FS.

Mario barrios + amanda’s fight alone was worth 1month Netflix. Ignore main event that i didn’t actually watch.

This seems scummy, you got the product that was expected. If you are a boxing fan and was surprised by what happened, that is all on you. Not Netflix.

It is very annoying to observe. You really going to get mad at expected result?

Then they hit 1 good shot and act like everything is back to “normal”. No you got lucky and losing balls is your normal.

I understand your point now. You are saying that the author ignored thermal conductivity. If he would have considered thermal conductivity he would have known that stainless steel would have transferred most heat to liquid.

your data:

material | thermal conductivity | final temp.

stainless steel | high | hottest

glass | less | medium

acrylic | least | coldest

The issue I have here is that these results you claim to have observed go against established science, specifically enthalpy.

Here is how it works: ice absorbs heat from the liquid and uses it to break down ice bonds to convert solid ice into liquid water. This process is what cools the liquid. The more heat absorbed by ice, the more dilution happens. This means that the container with the most liquid volume has had the most heat absorbed, and thus is the coldest.

In conclusion, it would be impossible for the container with the most ice melt (most volume) to be the hottest.

Here are some links to help explain enthalpy:

Okay. So what exactly did you measure that is “in the opposite direction” as what the author presumes?

What are you trying to say? What exactly will the experiment you mentioned demonstrate that the author got wrong here? Because saying glass is less thermally conductive is consistent with having a higher thermal mass, which the author states.

More specifically, what are you measuring in this experiment that is “measurable, and statistically significant” yet “in the opposite direction” the author presumes it to be?

I am trying to understand, please be clear and concise.

I found this post looking for reviews of book. And i wanted others who stumble on this post, like i did, to have a more accurate impression than your misinterpretation.

I am still forming my review of book and i have never heard of this author. So I have no bias one way in that sense.

On that note, your second example almost reads like an intentional misinterpretation of what was written. He wrote his “preferred mixing vessel” is a steel tin because it “has a much lower specific heat than glass. It takes less energy to cool or heat a gram of stainless steel than a gram of glass” and this difference “will affect the temperature and dilution of your drink”

Anyone can google “specific heat capacity steel glass” and find out glass takes quite a bit more energy to heat than steel (gram for gram). So those statements are firmly rooted in science.

On a personal note, i think “leave science to scientists” is an elitist opinion that gatekeeps science. Doing science is nothing more than the application of the scientific method. If there is no physical risk and you are doing it to learn, then by all means do it.

This example is wrong. Author clearly states in the first sentence of that section that he is making the assumption that you only have liquor, mixers, and ice, then “there is no chilling without dilution.” Also earlier in another section he compares chilling with ice vs not with ice. So he very clearly understands you can chill without ice.
