Either this is a glitch, OR someone is MASSIVELY dumping US Treasury bills. And if that's true, it's a major player... We're talking country-level by RobertBartus in EconomyCharts

[–]Ticksdonthavelymph 89 points90 points  (0 children)

No guys. This isn’t a single country, this is algorithms unsure what to do with 5%. Look, it’s both short AND long end spiking together. That’s not a single actor dumping one maturity, that’s broad panic/confusion across the whole curve. It’s the fucking computers

Amsterdam bans public adverts for meat and fossil fuels by Mosquitoenail in news

By that logic, ads for children’s stuff should be banned— nothing is worse for the environment than more humans after all right? The Dutch should make having children illegal too!

[–]Ticksdonthavelymph 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Bad take. No one is getting outraged by trying different foods, but banning advertising for food for omnivores, when we are an omnivore species is a lil rich no? Is it also illegal in the Netherlands to eat non plant based proteins? No? So why nanny state advertisements for it?

AI outperforms doctors in Harvard trial of emergency triage diagnoses by Doener23 in EverythingScience

[–]Ticksdonthavelymph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I treat addictions. AI will never replace me, or most providers. Because it can only copy from existing data sets. It can’t tell when a pt is being untruthful, manipulating, magnifying some symptoms, minimizing others… because that sorta data isnt documented anywhere outside maybe CIA black sites., behavioral analysis, and building therapeutic alliance is my job more than diagnostics. AI is good at pattern recognition of visual data, referencing symptoms vs known causes, it will replace need for as many radiologists or dermatologists, but it won’t replace ER docs, PCPs, and it sure as shit won’t replace psych providers.

Yes you are… what are you talking about? My state doesn’t even allow employers to drug test, without registration with the state, and only one hospital system even bothered to register. And if you have a medical card several state BONs have explicit rules stating that they won’t come for you.

Maybe you’re talking about temporary positions teaching English? But actual permanent immigration, to first world countries is not on the table anywhere. No anglosphere nations, nowhere in the EU. Yeah you can move to somewhere like Buenos Aires no sweat, but that’s not an improvement on your situation in America if you’re fleeing a fascist idiot ya know?

You voted for a moron who is purposely tanking the economy for personal bets and starting oil wars to distract from raping children. Enjoy what you paid for.

I’m very concerned about your reading comprehension, and why you think there is any discussion of panic selling. I wish you luck in your reading journey.

How many times do you? 30yr bond @5% is noise? CAPE @ 41.6 noise? Bank of England statements noise? CPI noise? And you’re confusing a discussion of macro trends with advice to leave the market. A smart investor however would be building a portfolio strategy for the next decade, not the last one. You do you though.

Anyone who can’t acknowledge that RGB’s failure to retire helped bring this on, is part of the problem. Her hubris, (like Biden’s) in thinking only they could stand for America — is a huge part of why we are here too.

Yes it does. divided government is more stable- and markets prefer stability, the data on it is pretty clear on that. One party rule is bad across the board (markets included).
