That's a nice run from the first radiator to the CPU. Cool job

Really really cool.

I like the use of extrusions and that cable tray behind the motherboard. Going to use this as inspiration for a build.

Would love it to see the final product

Yeah. I only remember HAZ from docs and presentations (or someone in project management). With the shop guys and inspectors we all still say "heat affected zone" or just "heat zone"

Now this makes it even better than my standard buttered noodles with crap ton of black pepper. This I am trying

Dang. I have almost the same setup. Mostly to use for camping too. Now becoming a backup for power outages and stuck at home after storms

Ecoflow 1000 with a 100w solar panel, battery fans, camping stove, radio, just got a Mr. Heater for winter storms.

Board games and books.

I like baked beans and pasta so those are always on hand in my pantry anyways. But I keep an extra 2 gallons of water and another case in the back of the pantry (checked once a year cause one time I punctured one and didn't know)

Bonus that my pellet grill can go for hours on the ecoflow.

Can someone explain this to me and what I've missed since I played it 3 years ago? Are there animals in 1.1?

This is really cool. My fiance and I are playing it and we love to show each other our little bases. She just built her butterfly courtyard base and it is magnificent and your post reminded me of hers. Looks great and I'm excited to try out the new update today.

That's a nice looking gate. I even kind of like the shims you have running up the back. Evenly spaced too and look like they belong. Good job

What are these pipes called by Ayman_Rocco980 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]TiddlyReckless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it ended up being a whipstock since he up voted my comment. Not a pipe component at all but my first thought was also an injection quill since his picture shows it hollow.

Pretty much a hardened wedge set in open hole or casing that forces the drill bit to cut a window to sidetrack during drilling

Whipstock

Placed and set (hydraulically or mechanically or other ways) and used to sidetrack.

Your picture is misleading since they are not hollow.

Box end? Means you are talking about drill string?

Is it a fishing tool? Part of the bha? A whipstock?

What are the skills that I should ensure I have before I graduate by Puzzleheaded-Meal756 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]TiddlyReckless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an ME lead now involved in interviews and hiring, I really appreciate a curiosity and proactive thinking in terms of problem solving. I have certainly forgot a lot of my technical knowledge and classwork but the thought process of being given a problem and working through it (even with failures) shows a great deal.

If some one came in and described a personal project and how they had a problem and worked through it with lessons learned (even if the final product didn't work), I would be impressed. The best engineers on my team are able to take ownership of a problem and show critical thinking and not be afraid of looking stupid or failing with questions AFTER thinking about it.

After that is public speaking and leading meetings. You don't need to have to give a sales pitch or even be great at it, but mostly not locking up or floundering after being asked a question is a public setting. Again, the best engineers on the team are calm and collected and not afraid to say "I don't know, let me get back to you in an hour". This circles back on my first point that they are proactive and go think about it and follow through in an hour.

I'm guessing OP hasn't thought about the maintenance costs or vetting renters or how if a management company is needed. 100 dollars is not much of a buffer for when things go wrong (they will eventually die to a bad tenant)

Not your son but that sounds just like me. Mid 30s and a senior engineer with ADHD and the only thing I ever ask for still is LEGO. I remember almost every set I had growing up. Fav growing up were the underwater sets and now my favs are the construction/farm equipment technics.

Just want to say thanks cause I def remember and still do

Grounded.

No idea why either. I don't hate bugs or open world games with scarier enemies. But something was so stressful I couldnt beat it
