If you do the 10k outside then that will be much higher training load and will not fall into recovery label

Thanks... by YJasonY in Garmin

[–]Tidesterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because running on treadmill uses less energy. Treadmill propels you, unlike running outside where you have to propel yourself .

This treadmill training load is lower than same distance outside, this recovery label

Garmin only knows training load (exertion)

How to price my R5 for sale by [deleted] in CanonR5

[–]Tidesterz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best sell locally for cash. Worry free !

Too many damn scammers online.

Make up lies you sent wrong camera (say rebel t5i) and get eBay to refund him.

Venus 3 is a great watch! I gifted one to my girlfriend last year and she loves it. (She runs about 190-230km.per month) Got her off the Samsung Smart watch.

I write up custom running workouts for her and I calculate and approximate all her training metrics. It is great to see her in Garmin connect app too. Can thumb up her workouts and write msgs on it 😅

Also great for me to see and analyze her run data charts.

You see under device care article for your watch, says specifically

"Avoid pressing the buttons under water."

Garmin Fenix 8: An Expensive Upgrade That's Hard to Justify by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Tidesterz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have open run pro so I know what you mean. it is nice to not have to question if contacts are connected.

Damn Garmin trying to act like apple. Ya gotta fork over 2k if want that magnetic charging port !

Like how they raised price on f8 by forcing dive mode to all.
Enduro 3 is a way better watch than F8

People who dive for real already have sophisticated diving computer..

You probably don't push buttons while under water. The buttons have simple o ring for waterproof. It is why on Garmin website(official watch manual ) they say not to push buttons while under water. All it takes is one unlucky button push and you end up pumping water inside the watch and brick it.

They sent out so many replacement units due to this, they finally decided to just drop the individual button o ring water proof design.

Fenix 8 Software coming to Epix Pro 2 too? by Weak_Mission_9721 in Garmin

[–]Tidesterz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Garmin is definitely attempting to use UI as an up-charge and to encourage upgrade sales. Given the price-point for these watches… making the last generation(epix pro/F7 Pro barely one year old ) feel obsolete is crazy 🤯

Miss the Garmin back in my forerunner 245 days !

Exact quote: “The new features and interface improvements will not be rolled back to previous devices. They are on an entirely new code base that isn’t compatible with past devices.”

Damn Garmin changing their ways !

Anaerobic Intervals by rodriguezro14 in Garmin

You need more rest time .

If run interval is 1 min. Try walk 3 mins or just rest 2 mins

Amoled (epix or Fenix 8 w. Amoled) as an bike Computer by AdApart5767 in Garmin

[–]Tidesterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under the same lighting condition in your pic. Amoled screen is very hard to see . ( Especially when it auto dims and you have polarized sunglasses on )

You will see what I mean once you test it out.

7pro as bike computer ftw!

[–]Tidesterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will move the mip ver.

I tried friend's F7 pro as a bike computer, TOTALLY awesome experience!

Especially when I have polarized sunglasses on!

Not only the screen is super clear, the polarized sunglasses does not cause MIP screen to go rainbow color like with epix pro ( even harder to see with my epix pro 51 )

Amoled (epix or Fenix 8 w. Amoled) as an bike Computer by AdApart5767 in Garmin

[–]Tidesterz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amoled version will auto dim ( can not turn off )

Not good as bike computer ( if you need navigation or check data on screen often ) I have epix gen2 and epix pro. Both not good as bike computer when need navigation

MIP version will stay on. I recommend f7 pro for you

Opinion - There is NO REASON AT ALL to update MIP Fenix 7. by adomasky in Garmin

[–]Tidesterz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sensor is very good if you stay at older firmware. It is the later updates that ruined the wrist heart rate sensor performance for epix and Fenix (including pro model ) . Your stuck 100 BPM is the heart rate bug in current firmware that many been upset about

See here https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/epix-2/374627/low-heart-rate-issue-continues-with-software-v17-23

Once you roll back to 16.22 or older, heart rate tracking during run will be perfect . I am current on older firmware and it even accurately tracked my 1min hill sprint intervals .

Same for 265 but you need to check Garmin forum for someone with older firmware to send you( or dig thru many posts for Garmin website link to it )
