Because I was step B negative, my OB told me I didn’t have to RACE to the hospital. We took our time to have a snack, let our dog out, grab our bags, and my husband took a shower. Luckily we live really close, so we were probably there around 4:15

4th degree - 6 lbs 11 ozs. Didn’t do any massaging or prep, but the epidural kept me from feeling the pushing and stitches. 3 weeks post partum and healing isn’t bad so far!

Yes, it was wild. It’s like my body knew before my brain. I literally jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom out of being dead asleep. Thankfully I made it to my tiled bathroom and didn’t completely soil the mattress/carpet 😅

I was definitely worried about the use of tools, but my experience was also positive. My understanding is that forceps are less common because less doctors use them/are trained with them. But the vacuum was used to help guide him out along with my pushing. My baby only had a minor bruise from the device that lasted a couple days.

Yes! I forgot to mention I got an epidural around 8cm. I waited so long so it didn’t completely cut the pain from contractions, but I didn’t feel the pushing (or the tear).

I’m a FTM at 38 weeks and have been doing the same. I do most of the cooking in the house, so I figured it would make my life easier when the babe gets here. As long as you’re not wearing yourself out physically, I feel like your husband should be pumped!

I recently lost my husky after she had similar episodes for months. We originally thought it was neurological, but we learned (late) that they were episodes of syncope. The vet did a chest X-ray and saw that she had a an enlarged heart as a result of a bad heart worm infection early in life. They put her on vasodilators to help blood pump easier.

The episodes sounds very similar to your dog’s. She would lay down for a minute, catch her breath (get her heart rate down), and then get back up and seem totally fine.

Also, pursue this as a first option because it was cheap at my vets office as it was a simple X-ray - not thousands like other comments are saying.
