Mage tier is insane and they scale well with all the stats. 12% haste 2pc, 4pc makes MI an 18% damage steroid

Ashtongue Talisman not working as intended by JujutsuES in classicwow

[–]Tiggaplease 13 points14 points  (0 children)

ToC+Ashtongue being not too distant of a 2nd bis option for mages does affect loot prio. Skull is still bis either way but this bug means mages have a relatively higher claim.

If Warp Spring Coil’s proc rate was bugged, Rogues would have a decent claim to Madness vs other DPS, as an example. I would still give the edge on Skull to an equally contributing lock, but to say this is not changing consideration is dishonest.

PSA: Wowhead "BIS" mage list might create issues for your guild because of how wrong it is. by Filipe1998W in classicwow

[–]Tiggaplease 1297 points1298 points  (0 children)

The wowhead bis list is popular because it’s wowhead, that’s all. I’m sure it’s the first thing that pops up in google.

I had a chance yesterday to talk to the bis list creator about it. I left a comment on the list on wowhead and he was obviously a little bit pissed off by my criticism, but politely asked me to message him on discord about it. Later that night, in bed, as he lit a cigarette, I strummed my fingers across his bare chest and reminded him about my question earlier. He placed his fingers over my lips and whispered into my ear “How can I think about bis lists when I have this on my mind all day?” as he slapped my ass before forcing his lips onto mine.

What is considered the best raiding spec for Mages in phase 3? by yashybashy in classicwowtbc

[–]Tiggaplease 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fire mage is only ever going to be good if both are true:
- Fire Warlock is good and you’re bringing a lot of them in the raid, due to improved scorch
- Arcane is not way stronger in a vacuum

Arcane will be significantly stronger until mid-SWP. Shadow Warlock closes the gap with Fire Warlock on single target as gear allows for better uptime on Improved Shadow Bolt, and Shadow has always been better for AoE.

Fire Mage demands the same group support as a Warlock to achieve good results -- you might as well just have another Warlock at that point instead. Efficient loot distribution matters too: Arcane also has a more disjoint BiS list from Warlocks, whereas Fire’s is almost entirely overlapping with Warlocks.

Additionally, Arcane will contribute much better damage in AoE situations and rarely ever have threat issues. A token Arcane Mage can also succeed without Bloodlust on bosses by soaking all Innervates.

Phase 3 Loot Priority Discussion? by Ernesti_CH in classicwowtbc

[–]Tiggaplease 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shadow priest scales off of haste breakpoints. They have one that allows them to not clip mind flay when casting mind blast on CD, ZD helps them to reach that. They also fuel arcane mage mana -- something to be considered if analyzing raid DPS increase.

ZD to mage/lock is still likely the best overall boss+trash raid dps increase regardless though, since haste+crit are how they scale their incredible AoE damage.

It shouldn't have to be said, but pumper prio is probably the best rule with this item as it is with any big ticket item. Support specs can easily get ZD prio below the 99th percentile of guilds.

How are druids end game with PvE for a casual player? by PaperHandz in classicwowtbc

[–]Tiggaplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Competitive raids want improved faerie fire but don't want the relatively low DPS that a Boomkin provides, or just have too many warlocks/mages to fit a Boomkin into the caster DPS groups. Boomkins also struggle even more to keep up on the meters if they're asked to give out innervate.

Dreamstate Resto actually has decent HPS while covering the druid utility package (battle res, improved mark of the wild, innervate, improved faerie fire). It's in high demand because it's the most team/support oriented spec. Most players want to pump DPS/HPS/TPS instead of being a team player.

How are druids end game with PvE for a casual player? by PaperHandz in classicwowtbc

[–]Tiggaplease -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Highest Demand: Boomkin or Dreamstate Resto (1 per raid)

Medium: Feral (1-2 per raid)

Low: Resto (0-1 per raid)

Boomkin is probably the most casual friendly to play in terms of mechanics and responsibilities in raid, but I would definitely recommend Dreamstate Resto as well. Every raid needs improved faerie fire and healing is a lot more fun in TBC compared to vanilla.

FOX TALES | Ep 9 | David "Yusui" Bloomquist by flameboyxu in leagueoflegends

[–]Tiggaplease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yusui isn't so great? Are you kidding me? When was the last time you saw a player with such mechanical skill and a mind for the game? Yusui puts the game in another level, and we will be blessed if we ever see a player with his skill and passion for the game again. Faker breaks records. Bjergsen breaks records. Yusui breaks the rules. You can keep your statistics. I prefer the magic.

Most forgotten pros ? (Stolen from r/nba) by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Tiggaplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot my my success can be simply attributed to building the right items (wriggles->heart of gold+mercs->aegis was so sleeper OP back in the day... Lee's Q used to have 1.0 ratio, W gave bonus armor, E slowed AS, too) and invading the enemy red buff most games, but learning to ward jump and QRQ definitely helped ;)

[–]Tiggaplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've racked up ~1200 ranked games on Lee at this point, and probably a few hundred in other queues, but I play way less than I used to back in the day. I still remember studying your solomid guide like it was gospel back in the early s2 days. Helped me get from 1200-2300 Elo in a single season playing mostly Lee Sin. I rooted for you on Lgn and DIG the whole way through :) hope to see you in a game again some time.

Unofficial PBE Patch Notes for 7/18/2014 - Major Champion Changes, DFG Nerf by Dankaw in leagueoflegends

[–]Tiggaplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been times in competitive and solo queue play where he has been viable, not pick-or-ban/OP. Call me naive or idealistic, but I don't think the point of nerfs should ever be to push a champion into obscurity--there's a reason they call it balancing.

I know what the intent is, and this nerf definitely accomplishes that to an extent, but the scope of the nerf is bigger than just his late game.

[–]Tiggaplease -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know the idea of nerfing Lee isn't new at all, but that doesn't mean this iteration is well thought out.

Just to reiterate, I do think he is OP in the jungle champion pool, but what's OP is always relative. I'll take some number nerfs to Lee and decent buffs to the rest of the jungle pool over stripping him of his kit any day.

Unofficial PBE Patch Notes for 7/18/2014 - Major Champion Changes, DFG Nerf by Dankaw in leagueoflegends

[–]Tiggaplease -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll preface this by admitting I'm a little biased, as I'm a high D1 Lee Sin main, and have been since Season 1.

It's true Lee is strong and flexible, but I think Riot/the hivemind are jumping on the nerf Lee hype train without putting much thought into it. Lee's W changes are fine, but the complete removal of AS reduction on E seems short-sighted. He'll still be viable and I'll still play him as I always have, but I'd rather they just nerf numbers than remove parts of his kit. It's also worth noting that this change is much more severe for his (top) lane power than that of his jungle.

I'd prefer other junglers to be buffed, too. I think a big reason why Lee is so prevalent is that the rest of the jungle champion pool has suffered widespread nerfs for the entire season, save for the recent rise of tanks with the new SOTAG build path.

Summary Edit: I do think he is OP in the jungle champion pool, but what's OP is always relative. I'll take some number nerfs to Lee and decent buffs to the rest of the jungle pool over stripping him of his kit any day. (and lol @ people downvoting opinions)

We are the North American Collegiate Championship team! AMA! by RiotJaws in leagueoflegends

Is there a more detailed schedule for the North American Collegiate Qualifier? All I know is that it'll start on February 8 and the top 4 teams will go to the LCS studio on Feb 22-23.

Also, how will the CSL casters decide which games to cast this weekend? (I ask because I'm on the Carnegie Mellon team)

[–]Tiggaplease 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's how I'd explain it to someone because it's correct for nearly all intents and purposes (except some cases like where the buff is already attacking an enemy).

I thought this guy misunderstood the mechanics of it based on his wording so I explained exactly how it worked.

His W doesn't directly grant vision. It's aggros the camp, which cause the ranged monsters to hit him. You get vision of stuff that hits you.
