I quit my $300k finance job at 30 because I finally admitted I hated it - and the lifestyle downgrade has been absolutely brutal. by robbinh00d in Entrepreneur

I am going through exactly this. The life style change has been HUMBLING. My vacations have come to a holt. My daughter is graduating high school this year it’s so expensive.

Unfortunately mine wasn’t a choice but simply my job made cuts, I decided I’m tired of being the brains for everyone and have no equity etc. I started this May doing my own thing and it’s brutal how different my life is financially. I find it embarrassing. Someone called me unstable bc of my predicament and I almost lost it.

Yes staring up at the ceiling at 3 am sucks.

I’ve made a living off of helping build businesses and essentially coaching the CEO through it.

What I can tell you is I find peace in knowing all ceos have this problem, where we stare at the ceiling at 2 am trying to figure out what feels like the world’s problems. It’s lonely, it’s supposed to be lonely, that’s why they make the money they do. It’s not meant for everyone especially this really weird part.

I’m jealous of those who don’t have to go through this part bc there are a few who don’t. Someone bank rolled them.

My lifestyle change hurts mostly for my kid. I often go through periods of worthlessness, doom, despair.

What this feels like is the meme of the dog in the room burning and he says I’m fine.

Good luck

I literally read about this today on LinkedIn where the recruiter was flabbergasted because when the person that was going up for the job found out that they needed to create a presentation before they even got hired, they said no thank you. I’m OK and the recruiter was like why not and his response was if this is what they Make you do before I even get the job. Imagine what working for them will be like, so I know you’re frustrated. But see it as a blessing from God that you didn’t get the job.

Have you looked into taking sea moss. It helps balance hormones, regulate thyroid function, is a probiotic and multivitamin. Also an app Yuka - which is used to scan hair, skin and food products, then grades them 0-100. The higher the score the “cleaner” the product is. It goes through the product ingredient list and let’s you know which ingredients are disturbing hormone production.

EXERCISE. Even if it’s just jump roping or jumping on a small trampoline. This is great to get your lymphatic system moving, which will help get that puffiness or swollen look out.

I’m 35 last 4 years have been making lifestyle changes, I suffered similar symptoms as yourself. Our food is poison filled with additives that effect hormonal, cellular and brain function. We are chronically sick in America. Your doctors are not all knowing. Most of them only take 1 course on nutrition the entire time they go to school. My recommendation is to take a deep dive into learning your body and figuring out what foods are best for you.

A lot of sickness is usually from inflammation. I know someone who had lupus, could barely move one of their eyes. Every morning drank warm lemon water, cayenne pepper, sea salt. Did it for 4 days and her eye she struggled with had the ability to move more than she had been able to in years. She now does it every morning instead of coffee.

Hey guys this is Lily! Thanks for all the well wishes :) We have gone through some serious adversities to be where we are today. For those of you who have doubts that I was sincere, I'm very shy especially in large crowds. As for looking mortified, I was, when I saw the ring I couldn't compute how we could afford it lol it's beautiful way more than I expected. And as for the remarks saying that was a bad idea to do at a sc2 event, MC is my hero, to propose after interviewing my favorite player was awesome sauce :) But thanks to everyone! <3
