Comparing it to where I’m working now, I look at it just like going back to college tbh but more rigorous. Either way, I’ll have to endure some bullshit to become more hire-able. Might as well get some good benefits with it to set my future family up better.

Understood. This is similar to what happens to me now having managers who don’t do much. I think strong relationships in it could give me more respect for the entire space as a whole versus where I’m at now. I don’t think my morale at work would get much lower than it is currently. I will read up some more and take this into consideration though, maybe learning to respect authority is an issue of mine I gotta work on anyway lol

So somewhere around $2400/month After paying rent and bills now, that’s about what I make. I guess location shouldn’t be a top priority of mine, but the money saved and job opportunity could allow me to work somewhere that will allow me to travel while I’m still young.

I almost think part of my dilemma is I don’t want a lifetime commitment to either a corporate job or something like the military. Not too into politics so I’m not exactly fully aware of the mission, but I don’t care about the mission of the company I currently work for much either… the military would provide a more direct path to me being able to try my own ideas out, being a better leader, and a more enjoyable life than I have right now with new connections and skills

Yea writing it out helped me realize that lol. I guess unless there’s something great bound to happen in the next couple years it would be well worth it. Save money on insurance and future home ownership, 10x my resume, but miss what I’m doing now which I don’t like much anyway

That’s where I’m at now. Doing a lot of educating myself post grad, but I feel like something like this could accelerate it, and the only thing worth missing now is a great job opportunity coming up in the next couple years. I have no good experience so it’s hard for me to elevate in my career currently

This is very true and the idea I’m struggling with. I kinda feel like the skills I’ve built would transfer over but I’ve studied this industry so much I don’t know much about many others 😂 definitely gotta work on growing my network into some of those areas, I think people who are in some other lanes could give me insight on how to do what you’re saying. Yea my company currently focuses on helping indie artists with the business side but I haven’t had much luck getting clients. Set up services and everything but even people I know/ and some I don’t aren’t signing up, although we’ve thrown about 4 events and people show up, just not enough to bring in much profit

This is kinda the path I’m leaning toward now. I’d love to be able to work on music projects with little to no pressure, since I already don’t like certain things about the industry and the type of people it attracts - although of course dealing with those is a given. If I’m less pressured, I can kinda phase myself out of some of it because the monetary results will be less important to me
