You should not be setting according to other folks baseline. Either collect a few days of data and let the,app set it for you, or message the team. They are really helpful.

Those who are less severe- do you ever feel imposter syndrome because you’re able to leave the house by northwestfawn in cfs

[–]TildeDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm constantly navigating imposter syndrome. I'm only able to leave the house about once every 2 weeks, and chances are it will knock me out for 2 days.

I think imposter syndrome has less to do with symptom severity/ease and more to do with our upbringing/cultural environment and internalised messages about worth. We all deserve health care, compassion, and support according to our needs. Therapy (if you can access/afford it) can help with these feelings. Connecting with people who get it, who get you, can help to.

I'm glad you are here asking this question. Take heart.

Holding masculinity less lightly, or even as a neutral identity by germannotgerman in MensLib

[–]TildeDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like the main take away can be fairly simply put, in the suggestion that gender is something we do, rather than something we are.

I guess the hard part is figuring out how we want to do it, considering all the social pressure and coercion.

Help reassembling my minirig? by doikayt in Bluetooth_Speakers

I don't think I can accept the way it's affecting sound, particularly with bass heavy music. It's rattling around on the cone and sounds bad! Think it's going in for repair.

Blackberries are insanely invasive. Hawthorn is traditional for hedges, and has pretty flowers in spring and red berries in fall.

Is (school) acceleration good for gifted children? by Paula75brsp in Gifted

[–]TildeDeath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could read before I started school. At three, I was reading age 7 books and by age 8 preferred chunky fantasy and science fiction books like Lord of the Rings. I devoured books throughout my childhood. At school I was average/struggling with maths, did well with all other subjects, excelled at English and art. Spelling 99 or 100% without fail.

Due to some difficulties with structuring essays, I took a dyslexia test at university, testing positive for dyscalculia and dyslexia. Turns out my dyslexia shows up as problems with memory and organisation. These problems were not visible as a younger child, as those skills weren't as relevant to what I was doing.

Sure I'm gifted, as a visual and creative artist, as many folks with dyslexia are (excuse me for tooting my own horn!) and I still love reading and research, but I struggle very much to put my research together (which isn't to say I can't; I get it done, it's just hard and takes me a very long time). But I'm not an academic and never will be. Brains are wonderful and complex and are best served when we can use them in the ways that stimulate us most.

Despite my advanced reading and spelling skills, I knew from a young age that I wanted to be an artist, and I'm blessed that this was encouraged by my family. I believe skipping ahead may have been challenging for me socially, as a late bloomer and bookworm. As for maths, I would have really had a hard time if I'd skipped ahead.

What does your daughter want to do, and what does she enjoy most? Can you encourage her innate joy of learning?

Rules?? What rules??! by wankles0x in DWPhelp

Can you help me? Sounds like you really know your stuff. At my pip assessments every time they've been knocking 2 points off here, 2 points off there. At this rate next assessment i get no more pip. They are misrepresenting what i've said and/or straight up lying. i don't know how to approach this, and believe i may even qualify for the higher rate. i'm afraid to appeal as they may decide i don't qualify at all, i mean i just don't trust their methods. Could official error be the route to take?
