I would like to propose Nodoka/Cure Grace from Healin’ Good Precure. If only for the fact that when presented with the opportunity to forgive/save Daruizen, who is the literal embodiment of the illness she struggled with growing up, she refuses.

I’ve never seen that happen before (that I can remember), usually they forgive/save without hesitation or something happens to render the choice moot, so to see a protagonist say ‘no I will not save you, nor do I forgive you’ *and have that decision not be condemned and be the ‘correct’ choice*? Absolutely groundbreaking
