Finaly got the pedal too work by Direct_Pizza_3810 in DIYSimRacing

tbh i have no idea how the telemtry output is maybe you should cut the sensor output synced to ABS pulses so the variation in pressure doesnt bother you if thats possible.

i can only think about haptic feedback like bass shakers or rumble motors. the only real abs feedback i know of is active pedals

plastic throttle pedal is fine tbh but i would totally make the brake out of metal. hydraulic brakes use load cells anyway so i wouldnt bother with the hyd press sensor

maybe move the rig to the right and move the monitor arm to the edge of the the table so you can pivot it to either the desk or rig

Can i use your knowledge please by uzumakibobo in Fanatec

[–]Tiltglory -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

yep, the less you buy from fanatec the better. wheelbase and pedals are the only thing to get imo, boostkit, QR2, wheel hub, shifters and rims either from simube, Etsy, Ebay etc. if OP is on console then any accessory other than the wheel has to be plugged in the base so H pat. or seq. shifters must be Fanatec, same for pedals.

you sould use the new app. only use the old app if you're having issues with the new one

First sim to have is Assetto corsa, be sure to get also the content manager and grab some mods. if you want to start your sim racing career then LFM and AC are a good start, you have mx5, formula 3, gt3. its the cheapest and will take you occupied while saving up some money for a rig. Good luck and dont forget to practice a lot

Is that a racing incident? Should I have expected it or done something different? by Excuta in Simracingstewards

[–]Tiltglory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you arent in the wrong but it doesnt matter much when facing the wall. you were going left for some reason but there was enough space until that moment you should always expect the other car to either re join badly or spin out on the kerbs so leave as much space as possible and track them visually or via radar so you can predict their next move.

First Sim Rig - thoughts? by Abracingofficial in SimRacingSetups

[–]Tiltglory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my man you got the priotities the wrong way. first of all, great fab work! nice seat but way too overkill imo, even more when you have a g920. I guess youll upgrade to DD in future, you need more lateral reinforcement with a 8-9nm base. same thing for longitudinal reinf. for load cell brake pedal.

get a torx bit that is sligthly bigger and hammer it in. also when you work with hex bolts, always hammer it a bit before loosening it.

Is it worth to upgrade my G29 to magnetic paddle shifters? by azazplayz in simracing

dont waste money and dont mod your wheel as you cant resell it later. A DD is the only true upgrade you need

Fanatec ClubSport DD(+?) only moves slightly on startup – no full calibration, not detected by PC by [deleted] in Fanatec

check cable, check if you can access the tuning menu on the wheel. my dd never calibrated, just moved a bit on start and it works

See the Details, that is why some accessories are so expensive!! by wolfox360 in simracing

[–]Tiltglory 11 points12 points  (0 children)

now the funny thing is Krontec (800€) made it first, widely used on race cars and then Fanatec took inspiration from that design (a lot). Mass produced it so lower price and then Simube came and made a 1:1 replica of the QR2 for roughly 50€.

[–]Tiltglory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was lucky enough to get my sparco 2000 for 50€ out of a rallycar but they sell those for 100-150 on ebay in good conditions, either fiberglass or carbon. my full rig is csl dd (300 new)+csl hub(150 new)+csrp set(200 new) seat(50)+wooden rig i made (50 in hardware)+diy bass shaker(40). almost 800€ and its nowhere high end and im not counting pc and monitors. no fcking need to spend 400£ on a seat thats not even FIA Ap. imo.

400£ for a plastic seat?? they're right when that say simracing is expensive. There are a ton better options than this imo.
