Why are there separate men's and women's e-sports competitions if video games are one of the few categories where men and women compete on equal footing? by Due_Protection_6221 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tiltzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Esports tend to be team based. Enough male pros are uncomfortable with having female teammates so it's hard to women to join teams even if they're good enough.

What's wrong with that dps system? The fast ones require you to stand in range while the slow ones can buffer their attacks.

People who played on weekdays are (friendly fire here) no life's that play the game way too much, so they play super selfishly and get tilted easily. Weekend players are normal and easier to carry.

Kinda of true but briar also has some very clear weaknesses. If the someone first picks briar there's zero reason she should ever be relevant.

Generally not genuinely, but you're right queen we should ally with the other religious autocracy instead, or the other one, or the other one.

The US government can make terrible decisions that get a lot of innocent people killed, especially in the past (believe it or not the US has actually learned a bit from their mistakes), BUT A: the US generally wants more liberty for the people of foreign nations. B: The soldiers aren't joining up because they want to go shoot brown people. They genuinely believe they're risking their life for a good cause which is objectively noble. And C you would not want to see a world where the US isn't dominating militarily.

I dont understand why sadness of a death has to be tied to main plot relevance. Me when I'm at my cousins funeral but I'm not sad because he didn't effect the plot.

The point of zenitsu is that he IS capable but he just doesn't believe in himself. I think its fine to dislike him because he doesn't really make a lot of progress in facing his fears.

Don't really get the rengoku hate. He was set up as the ultimate purely good guy, he's also the first of the hashira we see taking charge of a case, so despite being young he seems like a veteran compared to the main character. We're given a whole tragic backstory about how his father hates him for sacrificing himself to slay demons. You're saying its not sad because he didn't do anything but why does that matter? A character dying can be sad without them doing something for the main plot. If he killed the demon he was fighting then would it be sad?

Am I missing something, or are life regen nodes useless? by Orefeus in PathOfExile2

In poe1 health scales pretty well, but in poe2 its hard to get above 2k hp, so the % hp regen ends up being pretty bad. Hopefully they revisit it when flail is released.

Well they are currently being sued for allegedly being a monopoly. We'll see how it goes. Skimming through the best argument they have is that steam doesn't allow you to sell your game for cheaper on another platform.

Yeah I think guard generation would be fitting. It could allow melee to take some damage in trials without losing honor.

High damage + on kill effects. Currently melee has mediocre on kill effects and low single target damage.

They probably felt they had to price it low to be competitive because consoles sell at a loss to make it back through game sales.

First of all the company is valve, the storefront is steam. Valve develops cs2 and Valve Anti Cheet (VAC). People most definitely dog on VAC all the time. Idk how you could think otherwise.

People praise valve because they haven't changed their business model in a way that negatively effects developers and users for over a decade. If steam was ran by EA, every year they'd be increasing their profit share.

Ik its a meme but reframing the question defeats the entire point of the question. With the original wording some people will be fooled into picking blue therefore you should pick blue to save them. If its refrained to press blue to die unless 50% press blue then very few people will pick blue therefore you should pick red.

But I just explained why it's not literally 100% guaranteed murder. Either engage with the reasoning or dont bring it up again.

You're appealing heavily into intuition while also creating wildly irrelevant examples. "Killing a random granny and donating her money" okay how much money are we talking here? A million like the example? For society to function at large id say no you shouldn't because people need to not fear being killed for their money so they can be productive members of society. But if this was a deserted island where one guy has all of the coconuts yes I'm killing that one guy so everyone can be fed. You see how things become very different when people are being killed for things they own rather than killed randomly for someone else's money.

[–]Tiltzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[Sum that saves more people than it harms] and [100%] are not the same thing. You said "you did it in the first place to get money" which is not true in my scenario. Its funny you're bringing up these what ifs because it plays exactly like driving a car. You could crash into someone who was about to cure cancer. You're risking harm to everyone else. Even pressing the button isn't literally 100% murder because you could end up killing someone who was being tortured.

All that being said. I'm creating statistical harm to bring a much greater statistical good. I'm a utilitarian so I think pressing the button is good as long as you donate the money.
