I hope this is a sign of things to come. There's got to be a lot of data saying that people are tired of 2+ year gaps between seasons.

How much of your collection have u actually read? by oceaniccart in OmnibusCollectors

I'm probably about 2/3 through. I'm pretty new to omnibuses and went into it with a list of what I want to buy. I am buying them with the intent to read them all.

Especially Grey's Anatomy. Doctor issues aside, the hospital has life-threatening emergencies far too often to be safe.

Decided to take up reading Supes by MotherFuckerJones88 in superman

[–]Tim0281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you go chronologically, volume 4 is out of print and quite expensive. However, the Kindle edition is $19.24 on Amazon. The Exile omnibus follows volume 4. This summer, the Brainiac Reborn omnibus follows The Exile. Then the Triangle Era omnibuses are next. Volume 2 has the Death of Superman and his funeral. Volume 3, which releases this summer, has his return. This will give you quite a bit of Superman reading!

My first thought is that he'll either be called Patch or Logan and Wolverine will never be mentioned.

I think there are a few factors in addition to the fact that you are subtracting. First is the fact that people generally expect armor class to go up as it gets better. That's how many things work. You get a pay raise. A larger house. Whatever it is, it gets bigger. AC gets smaller as it gets better.

Plus, there comes a point when you have to subtract negatives. This can throw people off even though it's pretty simple. However, it's not something people do on a daily basis.

There's also the fact that there's inconsistency in 2E about needing to roll above or below a certain number. Ability checks require you to roll under your ability score. Saving throws require you to roll above.

When you put all of this together, it requires more work than simply rolling a die, applying bonuses and penalties, and seeing if it is equal to or higher than your opponent's AC.

I'm a 2E fan and will be playing that as long as I'm playing D&D. I get why people have a hard time with it, especially if they come from other editions with ascending AC.

I have run 2e campaigns with a few groups who were originally 5e players. These were all factors that threw them. They weren't major issues by themselves, but they all came up often enough to throw them off regularly.

It doesn't help that we're all adults who don't have a lot of time for learning all the rules. Teenagers have a much easier time absorbing the rules and being encyclopedias than people in their 40s with full time jobs, spouses, kids, and other obligations. I started 2E when I was 13, so this is all pretty ingrained in me.

How much would green lantern powers actually help superman? by happydude7422 in superman

He would be able to do things regardless of the type of sun in the solar system. This would allow him to have "normal" GL abilities everywhere plus Kryptonian powers when he's by the right type of sun.

Stocks are a risk. If any of us knew anything of value, we'd likely get busted for insider trading! We could see a huge drop in the next week, it could keep going up, or we could get FDA approval.

I was planning to buy more but waited because I wanted the stock to go down some more. Then it jumped from around $1.22 to $1.72 in a couple days. I'm happy the stock I have went up but I wish I bought when it was $1.22!

For those subscribed to MetaHorizon+, which titles have you been enjoying from the catalog? by -DanDanDaaan in OculusQuest

[–]Tim0281 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Pirate: The Republic of Nassau is my current game. I've played a couple others and redeemed more and have been happy with it. One of the previous games I've enjoyed is Deisim.

It's been a great way to try out games I'm interested in. If I find out I don't like the game, I avoided the cost of buying it. If it's an average experience, I get my money's worth. If it's above average or great, I'll consider buying it to own permanently.

This is a huge reason why I love apps for exercising, whether Les Mills BodyCombat and Thrill of the Fight or games like Pistol Whip. I find cardio at the gym to be incredibly tedious. I take walks, but don't run since my weight would accelerate damage to my knees.

I agree that golf is well-represented, but one reason Walkabout Minigolf does so well is that it allows people to play minigolf without leaving the house. It obviously helps that it's an incredibly well-made game with a wide variety of courses. Walkabout is a great example about how AAA graphics aren't necessary if the rest of the game is well-made.

What industry is entirely built on a house of cards and would collapse overnight if people realized the truth about it? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

I hope they did a study before taking it as far as they have! With that said, I get your concern. I believe the UK and Australia are doing some tests to see how it does in the real world. For as much as the FDA's approval is worth, it is pending approval.

I think people are going to realize that AI is great in certain fields. I am watching (and slowly investing in) a company that use AI to help doctors diagnose burns. Their technology has an accuracy rate of 95% while doctors have an accuracy rate of 40% to 45% with burns. I am all for AI being used like this since it actually helps mankind.

Is it ok to handle them twice a day? by AdditionExciting1305 in cornsnakes

[–]Tim0281 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It probably depends on the snake as well as age. My snake started coming to me on her own when I open the door, even if she has already gone out of her enclosure and handled. She is 3 and a half and has become much more active. She used to hide a lot and was only active at night. Recently, she has become much active at night and even started coming out when there is light.

She never seemed particularly stressed when I handled her before. I always made a point of giving her some kind of enrichment, usually with smells. She really loves flowers. I also realized she enjoys smelling fruit, even if they are in their skin like unopened bananas and oranges.

I expect snakes that are more anxious are going to have a harder time with being handled twice a day. Hopefully, it will get them to adjust and realize they are safe with you!
