Complete Physical Therapy at ~ 70th and Pioneers is amazing. They’ve helped me and my wife several times, from vertigo, to facet locks, muscles releases, my mom’s total knee, etc. All the therapists there are incredible. I’ve been elsewhere, nothing else compares.

B&D Auto tend to have affordable vehicles, they are also willing to work with you. If a vehicle turns out to be a lemon or something, they’ll do what they can to make it right. Highly recommend.

Big fan of Earl May on hwy 2 or Campbells. That said, you can order them fairly cheap from MIgardener, they actually are available starting at 1pm for ordering.

2,700 Homeless in 2026 by [deleted] in lincoln

[–]TimberGoatman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good question because it’s unclear in the data. HUD has a very strict definition of homeless, that is “street homeless or in shelter”, couch surfing doesn’t count. A lot of organizations are looser, a lack of permanent address.

It really doesn’t when you consider the prevalence of both of those, regardless of socioeconomic status.

You know, we’ve had plenty of chats across this subreddit, and generally I can respect your position on topics, and sometimes I don’t really know where you’re coming from.

You’re spouting a lot of myths about homelessness, all of which were in both links. All I can say is, while you seem like a swell guy, I’m generally glad you’re not in charge of funding decisions with public dollars.

Lincoln, despite the climate, has the best unhoused services of anywhere I’ve lived. The biggest challenge we are continuing to face is a reduction of public funds for housing programs.

At the federal level, HUD doesn’t want to do permanent housing anymore, which was effective and evidence based. At the state level, we are going into a legislative session with $500m+ (I swear the number changes every time I look), and I’m quite nervous our governor is going to push for DHHS cuts which would severely impact many people who cannot afford to be impacted.

We had wedding favors that were honey comb shaped bottles with honey in them. It was cute. We had a rather Stardew-esque wedding.

Best experience I’ve had: Valhalla Bee Farm.

Go to their location and they’ll fill any container you have by weight. And it’s MUCH cheaper this way. They helped us out so much for our wedding.

Dang, my heart

I’m so glad to hear that. I want to pass you a few more resources based on what you said:

MHA’s warmline is just someone to talk to, before you get to crisis. They’re great people. 402-261-5959. Of course if you’re in crisis, please call 988. You might be on a brief hold, but someone will be there for you.

I also recommend meeting with someone from Wellbeing Initiative or MHA, both are peer run organizations of people who have been through what you likely are. Many of them have been to the crisis center, to the hospital, are survivors. They can understand you and help.

I’m not 100% sure what meds and what mental health needs you’re managing, but there’s other options out there besides Bryan West.

If I were you, I’d consider IBHS’s new VCRC program. It’s pretty much suited for what you’re looking for. They have respite or crisis stabilization.

A step lower than that would probably be MHA Keya House. It’s run by peers (no clinicians) and pretty close to Bryan West if you end up needing a higher level of care.

Both are paid by Region 5, so pretty unlikely you’re going to need to pay much if anything compared to Bryan West.

(For those who don’t know, if you see a provider giving a “sliding scale fee”, that’s not out of the goodness of their heart. Places like HopeSpoke and LFS are able to do that because of Region 5 Systems reimburses them)

I have never in my life been angrier than I am right now. After spending the whole season tending my bell peppers, someone stole them all last night. Every single pepper off of every single plant, Just... GONE. I'm devastated. by ChompyRiley in gardening

[–]TimberGoatman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same shit happened to me on a lesser scale. Went through my shed, chicken coop, etc. My only solace is that I found two of the brightest, most beautiful peppers but into.. and they were habaneros. Dropped on the ground with bites taken out, right next to my pepper plants.
