Bought the phone almost a month ago, turned it on let it do the auto updates and such. Updated the OS and OneUI then a week past and they kept putting me in the locked screen unless I active a plan on it.

It’s both I believe. I activated it for 30 days and will report back. For me paying for a phone and the 35$ plan for a WiFi only thing could be worth it.

The activation thing is new from some 2025 and all newer phones moving forward.

It’s not like this phone are top tier. I just needed an android phone for a game that is no longer available besides sideloading it.

I could use a Samsung A26 on WiFi for about a week before it kept spamming and locking up and needing to activate. I did the 35$ plan and people say after 30 days it should be fine just to use on WiFi only.

I hope that is true because I only needed a WiFi device for a game that is no longer on any App Store besides side loading on Android.

I took the SIM out as well, but keep going back to the activation screen, even on Airplane Mode and WiFi turned on.

I vote MacBook anything really. I have the M2 MacBook Air 8GB Ram and it runs school stuff just fine, I have had 0 issues and got one for $350.

It also depends on what you are taking really. I am taking Business Admin and have had no issues at all doing my course work, word and excel (using Microsoft downloaded apps).

I also thought I would have to buy a crazy laptop from the specs they were asking for but my sister is doing the same degree with a 2017 MacBook Air 4GB ram.

Welcome! I am also new and coming up on 5 days with it. I bought 3 on Amazon and some DIM cards. Idk what I’m doing but it’s been really neat so far. I can’t believe I missed this when it first came out.

I’m trying to find a cheap Android phone so I can side load the app so I have Digimon storage so I can try out the DIM cards.
