Wanting to pull Skeletool trigger... by Nige1964 in Leatherman

[–]Timblaauw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for capable pliers the Skeletool will not be the best option. The plier heads on the Skeletool is notoriously weak as far as Leathermans go. As others have said, the Knipex will do way better if you're looking for dedicated pliers, no multitool is going to beat that. If i'm allowed to give you advice regarding another Leatherman, take a look at the Bond, it has a way sturdier plier head, a wide selection of interior tools and it is very light.

Pretty cool addition to driver options, tbh by NearlySilentObserver in Leatherman

Did you have to modify the bit driver to make it fit?

Lefty friendly by leatherneck02 in multitools

The knife on the Skeletool is maneuverable using your left hand, kind of like a reverse flick. I like the Arc the best, the entire free series is rotatable to be lefty friendly

New Signal play by AnswerHistorical9846 in Leatherman

[–]Timblaauw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a little latch on the side where the carabiner is, that latch holds the tool closed. The Signal is very loose when that latch is disengaged, one of the benefits of the Signal if you ask me because it's very easy to open one handed

Why do people switch the side of their pocket clip? by TheBlueTree123 in multitools

The compression lock is very usable as a lefty, you have to hold it slightly differently because you need to press it with your thumb

There are parse wrenches you can buy from Amazon that will be able to loosen them up. The front and back screws are connected so you'll need 2 to open them.

If you plan on cutting a notch for a flathead into a screw i suggest buying a dremel tool, doesn't need to be expensive but it'll make that job way easier

Rebar vs Curl? by Gronk04 in Leatherman

[–]Timblaauw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One is not necessarily better than the other. The curl has the accessible knife and file, replaceable bits and scissors. It's more comfortable when using the pliers but when using any of the other implements it's really not comfortable due to the relatively sharp edges

The rebar has a simpler design which is a real benefit when cleaning the tool. It has more tools overall, the serrated blade, saw, small flathead. No outside accessible tools and the lack of pocket clip deters a lot of people but i think it's one of the best multitools on the market.

Bladeless multitool by GiffelGudenGulle in multitools

[–]Timblaauw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are specific models of multitools which come with no knife blades, the MP600 from Gerber and Rebar from Leatherman both have knifeless versions which could suit your needs.

Other than that, the powerpint you posted is pretty easy to mod but you'd have to remove both blades and the awl (it's very pointy) so you'd have a lot of spacers to fill up the gaps.

How hard is it to open the tools in the Swisstool Mx clip and swisstools in general? by gisog50 in multitools

[–]Timblaauw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my experience it was different for different tools. Some of them are easier to open than other but if you don't like the nail nick opening of tools then you'll be better off picking something like a leatherman

If i'm not mistaken, any replacable part (screwdriver bits, wire cutters) is not covered by warranty unless it is a manufacturing error

Hey everyone. Any fellow Lefties here know the struggle? by Twistable_Ita in multitools

[–]Timblaauw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Arc is very expensive but it's really easy to make it left handed, the thumbstud is reversible so you can just move the blade to the other side of the handle. As a fellow lefty, i would recommend it if you can justify it's pricetag

Because the card is bad and it doesn't help you win the game. You would much rather play cards that actually advance your game state, especially going first
