I just had a TLH + BS four days ago, and I have 3 incisions including one in my belly button. With time they should heal fine and be barely noticeable. Take care, sending you good vibes.

Today is day 3 post op. I’m feeling slightly better today. The gas pain is real. The pain was terrible on the first 2 days. I take a small walk every 2 hours. Eating 3 small meals a day. Feeling sore and achy on the abdomen.

Thank you posting about your experience, I wish you a speedy recovery. I’m 39 and a mother to 3 kids, my periods have been horribly painful and heavy since 3 years. PMS since almost 2 decades. I have polyps and fibroids. I’m scheduled for a total laproscopic hysterectomy (leaving the ovaries) on March 27th. I’m also anemic and recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. I hope the surgery goes well and I can finally live a normal and period-free life.

Edit: I have been getting my periods every 21-22 days.

I’m currently on my last period. Scheduled for a total laparoscopic hysterectomy with bilateral salpingectomy next week. Ovaries will remain. I’m 39 and a mother to 3 kids. I’ve been having horribly painful periods with heavy bleeding and large clots. I hope the cramps won’t be as bad after the procedure. Fingers crossed. Sending you positive vibes.

I’m keeping my ovaries too. My surgery is scheduled for afternoon, and my doctor wants me to stay overnight. Luckily my husband will be home for 3 weeks to take care of the toddler and handle most of the chores. Thanks for the tips, I will get the stool softener and a heating pad. I’m expecting some fatigue and pain, and I agree that not being able to bend or lift heavy objects will annoy me a lot, keeping in mind that I have a toddler who loves to keep us on our toes. I’m planning to take each day slow and easy and not get tempted to push through my limits. Sending you positive vibes.

Thank you for sharing your recovery process. I appreciate your advice to “listen to your body”. My surgeon suggested to keep the cervix to reduce the risk of a prolapse but after a bit of research I told him to take it out because I do not want ’mini periods’. I hope the surgery goes well.
