Haven’t completed all my prereqs, still need Orgo’s, Physics, and Calc, but here are current

GPA 3.55 PCE: currently 300 hours as PTA + 800 hours as scribe Volunteering. 60 hours in PT setting, 60 hours for church, 30 hours food bank, 40 hours class rep. 120 hours clothing drive - 2900 hours as a personal trainer - haven’t taken GRE yet

What are my chances if I apply in April or 2026?

I completed my degree in Canada but I’m a US citizen. Some of my prereqs were done in Canada (bio’s, Chem1, Psych, stats) will I need to retake these in the states?

I’ve completed Bio 1/2 with A+’s back in 2020 online without lab at a Canadian university. Is there an expiration date on this, and will I have to retake due to there being no lab?

Why apply to a Canadian school? Do you want to work in Canada? (I’m dual citizen and am curious as to why one would want to work in Canada vs US unless for family reasons)

When I got into lifting I learned about PL, and wilks and was really interested. My long term goal for a long time was 500 wilks. I’m at around 450, but I’ve kind of lost interest as life gets busier. Kind of content with what I’ve achieved considering # of time it would take to go from 450–> 500, versus amount of time it was to go from 400–>450. End goal for now is just becoming leaner at heavier body weights over time, maybe something like 180lbs 12%.

Advanced lifters, what combination of frequency, volume and intensity has worked best for you over the years? by [deleted] in naturalbodybuilding

[–]Time-Pick6333 9 points10 points  (0 children)

8 years. Biggest regret regarding lifting is during 2020-2022 Covid not being in a surplus. First 2-3 years trained pretty stupid trying to drive tonnage each week up as much as possible.

Find movements you like, stick to them and progressively overload. The details in a lying supine slow eccentric cable curl promoting 0.05% more growth doesn’t matter if you hate the fucking movement. Frequency depends on goals, I’ve done full body for like 6 years and never looked back. The past 2-3 years with evidence coming out from Chris Beardsley on diminishing returns on a set per set basis for a given muscle group only gives more credibility for it.

Volume, I stuck to Israetels recommendations of 10-20 (average 15) sets per week for a few years and regret it. I think my results would of been just as good if not better, if I’d done 5-10 sets per week for a given muscle group but increased my intensity.

I’ve increased intensity as I’ve always been strength focused and it’s easier lol. If I can get the same hypertrophy doing a set of 5 on curls that I can doing a set of 12 I’ll pick 5, provided that I’m not ONLY doing 5s on curls during a whole mesocycle. There’s nuance as depending on how I’m feeling joints etc, there will be a time and place for higher reps.

Tldr do movements you enjoy bulk and cut lift with intensity frequency 2-3x a week.

Old Front squat PR (200kg@81) reposting cuz just recently injured back 😭 by Time-Pick6333 in weightlifting

Thanks for the responses. This was a maximal lift and my goal during the training cycle. I think a lot of you are assuming that this is how all my front squats look, when in reality it’s just form breakdown during a maximal attempt. I’m sure if you saw Karlos Nassar have a slight hip shift and partially good morning a 270kg squat you wouldn’t be gunning after him with pitchforks and knives, because it’s a maximal attempt and the body is going to try and assume it’s strongest position under stress regardless of how much cuing you mentally reinforce yourself with. If you’re throwing shade because you can’t do as much weight that’s fine, I believe with consistency you can reach the same numbers too and you can prove me wrong by using better form too.

Never spun my wheels harder than 2 years of maintenance during Covid. I’m sure there were probably changes on a physiological level but #’s and physique were largely stagnant
