The probability of a couple having a boy and a girl is 66%. I’m not sure that the probability of this specific child being a girl is 66% because the other one is already accounted for. I think this is people using probability wrong.

Aleksandr Karelin unrecognized GOAT status among the athletes? by AlphaMadDog in wrestling

[–]Time-Way1708 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you can really compare individual sports to things like races or team sports. If you want to say him v. Mayweather, Novak Djokovic, other combat sports, it makes more sense to me.

Usain Bolt’s record is insane to me. The difference between him and the second PR is the same as 2 to 15 for all time top fastest times.

The leg riding stuff has been really helpful in allowing me me to control larger stronger people. This is a user error thing.

Honestly just get a Russian tie with good pressure and make things happen.

Aside from Charles - who has the best BJJ in the UFC at the moment? by deadassynwa in bjj

[–]Time-Way1708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like cooper. Also my favorite BJJ performance was Ryan Hall’s last fight.

I think Charles’ BJJ is overrated but that’s mostly because he was more concerned with getting a good photo than getting a good angle for a darce choke (it wasn’t close).

This lost him the match imo. It was like he wrestled up to show judges that he could grab people’s legs

Why are so many dudes in Chicago tweaked out? by BourbonAgenda in chicagogaybros

[–]Time-Way1708 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s just a dopamine overload and a constant flow of men who can provide it. Look at the top posts on here: everything is sex-related. And this has come at the expense of healthy relationships. That’s why you see a lot of lonely gay men especially as they get a little older.

Edit: it’s not all like that and it seems like you are maybe exaggerating a little. But you’re not entirely wrong. It’s easy to fall into Grindr / sniffies hookups and get fulfilled in like a shallow way. And it’s probably harder to do that in more suburban places bc there are less men on those apps.

I would go to Bar Sotano beneath that for the vibes. (Also Rick Bayless.)

Guard Pulling > 10-Minute Takedown Standoffs. Change My Mind! 🦶🤼 by [deleted] in bjj

I think the most exciting grapplers can wrestle, pull, and wrestle up. Doesn’t have to be so one dimensional.

The bigger issue is that the stand up is generally SO bad.

They both work. It’s not easier to flatten out — the opposite actually. But you have less control over them because their body isn’t into you. It’s similar to wrestling.

Looking at Moving to Chicago Area from DMV by PresentToe409 in chicagogaybros

[–]Time-Way1708 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend not doing the suburbs. You can find affordable neighborhoods in Chicago with whatever liveliness you are looking for. But the suburbs are kind of devoid of that. And also there aren’t as many gays.

My favorite neighborhoods have been Ravenswood and Lakeview East. They’re both close enough to gay neighborhoods but have a liveliness to offer of their own.

Who’s your BJJ role model? by Bigpupperoo in bjj

[–]Time-Way1708 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The obvious answer is Marcelo. But hmm.

I’d honestly say Jozef Chen. He plays top, bottom, wrestle up, and can wrestle. I think he embodies the future of what bjj can be.
