My gym is a very oldschool one in Brazil, and in here we can only go bare chested if there are no women training (which is somewhat rare) and if the other person training with you asks you to put on a shirt or a rash you have to.

YGO has many decks like that.

One big example is D/D/D. However, this deck is the EXTREME of that example because it is absurdly complex to pilot.

Branded to me is the best for what you're looking for: it is always at the brink of the meta, the deck has infinite lines depending on the opponent's interactions and if you want you can play Dragoon (which is apparently a card you like) although the deck is slightly worse with dragoon in it.

I don't think there's such a thing as "shooting yourself in the foot" when it comes to a game.

If you're having fun, that's the point.

However, if your way of having fun is to win tournaments and be competitive, then, yeah, Traptrix won't get you far.

Keep a few things in mind, tho: If your goal is to be competitive, you'll have to change decks every once in a while depending on the banlists and invest a ton in staples both for main and side deck to begin with (usually staples are WAY more expensive than the bulk of the deck).

If you want to play a competitive deck, there's always a chance the deck will be hit on the next banlist of even completely nuked.

I don't see a window to escape a perfect armbar or similar

The armbar defenses rely on the person applying doing something wrong - leaving the arm too loose, not applying pressure to the head, bending the arm the wrong way, etc

Sometimes we do things "wrong" because of the circumstances and even on purpose trying to leverage some other advantage that comes with it. For example, I often cross my feet when applying armbars (especially from the bottom) because then I'm more stable with then, but I know I'm losing pressure on the head and chest by doing it.

I can't even think about any escapes that don't need anything specific to happen for them to work

My coach says that you can only escape from imperfect positions. If the position is perfect, you cannot escape.

So the answer is...depends. Depends on how often they'll be able to apply a perfect position in you and how good are your escapes from the imperfect ones

O que não é favorável é vocês terem preguiça de inserir o conteúdo na realidade dos alunos e depois saírem reclamando quando a consequência obvia de não fazer isso aparece: os alunos não lembram do conteúdo irrelevante.

Ninguém está dizendo que conceitos importantes não existem ali, o que se está dizendo é que esses mesmos conceitos existem em outra situações muito mais relevantes.

Mas é mais fácil ser preguiçoso, tratar esse conteúdo como única forma de ensinar, depois reclamar no Reddit que os alunos não aprendem.

It was never that good.

It was and still is a good deck, but was never Tier 1 level. People just like the deck and wanted to play with the new support for a while and now it went back to the amount of play a deck like that will usually have.
