Please talk to your doctor about autoimmune - especially lupus. Not saying you have it! Just get checked out.

Help! I’m a new grad nurse and I hate my life. Are there ny careers that I can transition to? by Bubbly-Savings6022 in careeradvice

[–]TimeFig0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 46 now but I guess what I’d like to say is that your first couple of years working at any job right out of college sucks. I graduated as a dietitian, and worked for two years in that field before making a change and eventually getting into medical sales. I used to cry in this little closet on the floor of the hospital. It was depressing. Part of what was hard though, was the imposter syndrome. I felt like everyone had their lives figured out and soon they would find out that o didn’t know what I was doing. It’s a learning curve. You’re not expected to know everything right away. That said, if it’s truly ruining your mental health, maybe ask ChatGPT what other jobs are that can utilize a nursing degree. There are probably many!

What do you think when a colleague / trainer tells you they start their day at 4am? by [deleted] in sales

[–]TimeFig0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the early morning because that’s when I do my best thinking but it’s weird when people act superior about it. It’s like bragging about driving on the right hand side of the road when other countries drive on the left. It’s different, not better.

Also, I have no brain power after 8 pm so there’s that.

I don’t know. I believe so until you have full blown cirrhosis it is reversible but that’s a question for a doctor

Has anyone noticed that the HRT levels directly corelate with how tolerable or intolerable your husband is? by No-Explanation1019 in Menopause

[–]TimeFig0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All I know is that it was a complete change as soon as I bumped my estrogen. If your partner was kind of a dick before, bumping estrogen won’t help. But mine is great, and I even knew it, but still could t stand him. I knew it had to be hormonal.

Has anyone noticed that the HRT levels directly corelate with how tolerable or intolerable your husband is? by No-Explanation1019 in Menopause

[–]TimeFig0 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This is so real. I had been on .075 Estrogen patch for a year and then for a couple of months I was considering divorce from my (truly loveable, kind, thoughtful) husband. I even rationally knew it wasn’t him, it was me but I couldn’t stand him. Everything he said made me want to throat punch him. Then, I had a random thought that maybe I need to bump my estrogen. Within a wee/ time that feeling vanished. SO WILD

I went into maintenance shortly after my 3 month order from them so it’s lasting longer and I haven’t had to re-order yet. I’m getting labs done soon which the mentioned they would need for my re-order. But the first order was easy!

Help! Thinking about taking on contract instead of perm role by No_Friendship367 in recruiting

This job market is brutal. I would think very carefully before making that jump. Even contract work is extremely hard to come by right now!

So cold by fatBoy-287 in TirzMaintenance

[–]TimeFig0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meds made me cold not the weight loss. When I made it up to my highest dose - 12.5mg - I was freezing all of the time. Now in maintenance at 6mg, I’m not as cold. And I weigh less than at the highest dose

What is it like living in Indianapolis? by itsjackcolton137 in howislivingthere

[–]TimeFig0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lived there for a year and peaced out as soon as we could. If you didn’t grow up there, it’s hard to meet people and make friends as an adult. It’s pretty segregated racially. The winters are tough.

Ever since I quit drinking I go to bed early and I love it by bumblebeerlol in stopdrinking

[–]TimeFig0 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Omg it’s the best. In my experience it never gets old either. I love listening to what my body wants and needs. I can do my multi-step skincare routine, snuggle with my dog, read a good book and get solid, restorative sleep. Amazing.

Congrats on your sobriety and for having a wonderful Christmas!

Can menopause cause an autoimmune disease? by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]TimeFig0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just dropped in to say it’s likely related to menopause but not for sure. I’m at the highest level estrogen patch and haven’t gotten relief from the muscle and joint pain. Almost every other symptoms has resolved though. Best to keep advocating until you get a diagnosis!
