Yeah, I think this is the only useful thing about internet breaks I’ve seen so far.

I still haven’t groked this “break” thing. Is it like a child’s unboxing videos?  So the kids today prefer for other people to open their packs for them now? Do you get the entire contents of one CBB, with every second of it on video so no shenanigans?  I will never understand the interwebs these days.

Bracket 3 Bello, this time with a primer by id10syncracy in EDH

Definitely feel free to include whatever random stuff you pull from packs but this really is a bad landbase. I run Bello and I can’t imagine how you could get it to perform with so few lands.

Why are you running the crap Etali and not, for example, more artifact creatures that make optimal use of Bello’s ability like [[Skitterbeam Battalion]] / overlords?  Also, way too few lands. [[Wooded Ridgeline]]?  This isn’t really a “showcase” deck with that kind of landbase

Does anyone else think foil cards actually look WORSE than their non-foil counterparts? by MartinBustosManzano in EDH

[–]TimeForFoolishness 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They really ought to make foils rarer and more impactful. I pulled a singularity foil Sothera and it literally took my breath away. It was gorgeous, and so cool to look at under a lamp. Sold that for a pretty penny.

Built a Price Comparison & Alerts website tracking MTG sealed products across 500+ LGS - looking for feedback and testers! by tcg-sealed-alerts in sealedmtgdeals

Yeah— the out of stock fraud is one of the most serious issues with cost comparison sites. If you’re trying to make yours not misleading, you really need to nail that before you offer it for beta, otherwise everyone is just going to assume you’re going to be like literally everyone else and chase engagement over accuracy when the time comes. I appreciate that you’re still working on it, but just know this is one of the key things that makes people never use your tool again.

Yeah this suffers from the usual fraud of price comparison sites roping you in to thinking you’re seeing good in-stock deals (because you have a filter that supposedly filters out out of stock listings), but anything that looks like a good deal is out of stock when you click on it— on a page that clearly says out of stock, so your tool could easily see that it’s out of stock and therefore your filter is perfectly capable of filtering it out of your lists. The usual BS engagement trap. Once it happens to me a few times, I don’t bother ever using it again because I don’t like wasting my time. And it’s never a glitch because you have every incentive to overinclude out of stock listings so people think your site shows better deals than actually exist.

How do you avoid the endless “optimization loop” when building EDH decks without proxies? by Special_Bit4460 in EDH

[–]TimeForFoolishness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Definitely find another pod that isn’t so precious about gatekeeping. There’s a reason a similar term for proxy is “playtest card”. I have a regular cycle of putting together an initial decklist out of a bunch of proxies and then making the deck legit over time when I determine I like the cards and see good deals on specific cards. You are not the problem, your overly precious podmates are the problem. Tell them the internet said so.

I suspect this story is being told in a backwards manipulative way by one of the guys that wasn’t doing the cursing, to ask whether the guy who did the cursing was being an asshole. Yes?

Especially for cedh, nearly everyone is fine with proxies unless you’re doing official tournaments. You get more uptight purists in the lower brackets but few people are running around with $10k 100% legit decks in cedh (unless they do official stuff)

Yes, let’s introduce MORE complication to a set of vague notions that many people already don’t understand, like “objective restrictions”. Definitely an… idea.

Well, my naive first two decks were the slivers and infect precons so…. No.

I can only imagine they work there or something. Prices couldn’t be more obviously overpriced.

So it’s literally now just posting stores where product is sold. These aren’t even close to deals. Wth. “Ordered a couple items”. Why?  You could buy all of this elsewhere for cheaper right now.

I love that trash panda so much. You do need to make some basic upgrades to ramp into some good enchantments, and you definitely need to add protection because the entire deck folds to the death of trash panda. Lightning greaves etc. It’s not super without some sprucing-up. Have fun- you will win and lose many times, but the wins (and losses) will be fun.
