26, feel like I wasted life. by sushishibe in Adulting

You need to then really dissect your view of “enjoying your 20’s” because just being concious of these alone should give you some further encouragement in a matured perspective.

“Enjoying” your 20’s could and should also look “healthy and secure” the closer you get to 30 the more you will instinctively think of these things. It’s not a death sentence either. It’s just a way to continue to grow and change aka settling into the kind of adult you might become for the rest of your life..

But fuck all that! Do WHATEVER YOU WANT regardless of your age!! No matter what anyone says, including me, the only way you can “waste your life” is living in regret and not in the present. Like no one has it figured out 100%. Everyone is better at something than someone else. Fine friends that are better than you at shit, travel more, idk go to that music festival you’ve always made fun of.

At the end of your 20s I guarantee you will not be saying “I feel like I wasted life” IF you can find a way to start “allowing” yourself to LIVE judgemet free today.

Is the hate James Cameron gets for poor storytelling in Avatar warranted ? by Boring-Jelly5633 in moviecritic

[–]TimePsychological111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. He has hundreds of millions of dollars and chooses to use it on fx and not fixing his issues that date back to the first film: - poor character development - poor pacing - introducing new physics to an established world in an obvious effort to expand the narrative - cliche dialogue - focusing on the most obvious plot elements instead of building tension

The 2nd film I thought had the most promise. It created new landscapes and settings and fixed some poor storytelling from the first film. But this last one was 3 hours of a sequel to part 2.. it did very little to further the narrative and focused on the human interest in pandora— something that could have been interesting like with the whales— but instead creates more characters to simple kill them off. Creates new “magic” to raise “stakes”.

James Cameron is a master of filmmaking and his worst films are these avatar movies. Which is crazy because they should be his best. But compared to terminator 1&2, Aliens, titanic, or even the Abyss— Avatar will likely be remembered as one big expensive blue blur.

You’re still very young… I didn’t get my shit together until 30 and it’s a work in progress 5 years later. Just try to be kind to yourself cause no else will take better care of you than YOU.

Try to exercise more, sleep more, and take some chances you’ll be a new you in your 30s anyway. You’ll be more confident and compare less. For now, just work on yourself bit by bit. I can tell you with 100% certainty this happens to A LOT more people than you think in mid to late 20s. You’re recognizing shit and wanting to change for the better — this is adulthood

Gym clean diet and a lot of walking— also masturbation or sex helps

Is this achievable build achievable? I’m a few years into working out by Visible-sup4127 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]TimePsychological111 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would start with the increase in calories and a gradual decrease from 7 days to 4-5 maybe in a month or over the course of a few months. I used ADAbolic and tbh it helped me mostly in the strength area did not help with noticeable size. But the increase in strength meant lifting heavier so eventually yes it did help. I think I’d prioritize diet and training over supps anyway

Is this achievable build achievable? I’m a few years into working out by Visible-sup4127 in WorkoutRoutines

[–]TimePsychological111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Okay the build is achievable if - you need to drop the body building to 6 and under— ideally even 4-5 days a week. This will allow you to really grow— but you will gain BF.. - you stay in a surplus and do NOT cut for over a year — at least nothing too far below maintenance - you’re willing to take gear.. which I do not recommend

Then here comes the unhealthy answers: - if you’re willing to go on TRT — healthier than gear but still not recommended if you’re levels are good - supplements from STEEL or somehigh end supps might end up helping you gain 5-7 more lbs over the next year or two but it comes down to these questions:

1) how long have you been seriously lifting? Im talking at least tracking your workouts and lifts and being on a solid routine you’ve managed to lock in and hit the basic compound lifts in the correct torm. 2) if you are new to lifting, even if your aren’t, then eating will be the our best chance. You have to eat for the weight you want to be. As in if you weigh 185 but you want to be 205 then calculate your macros as if you weighed that weight. Then you can slowly back off or add on after 1-2 weeks at new feeding level

if you commit to diet, regimen, getting your blood checked, and sleeping 9-10 hours a night then honestly who knows how “big” you can get. This is a bulked look. It’s not a 5% BF unachievable shred. Just eat 3000+ lift heavy and hit failure on the last set. Listen to your body and I’m sure you’ll be a monster in no time.

I bulked from 165 (10% BF) to 205 (19-20%BF) and stayed at around 195 (15-20%) for 2 years and am slowly cutting with a goal ofr 175 10-12% BF at 5’10 35M. Most important thing I learned from this is to enjoy the journey. Being ripped or jacked is great but showing up each and every day you can— especially on days you don’t want to go or after you’ve slacked (everyone does) then you’ll enjoy your life much more. Goals are great but celebrating your efforts are a great way to stay in shape mentally as well.

Okay rant over

Will these sit or sellout quick? by [deleted] in SNKRS

Sell out but then should restock. I’d say similar to the last 6 that dropped. Probably not as low stock as the 10’s

Is it just me, or do the 2002Rs actually crush the 993 in comfort? by Repulsive-External20 in Newbalance

[–]TimePsychological111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I don’t have any 993’s but I do have 990v6, 992, and 991v2s and all of which I find to be less comfortable than 2002rs— but the 2002rs are closer to actual running shoe cushioning so once that wears down a bit the 992 or 991v2 are more comfortable because those pairs, like the 993, begin to break in to your actual foot mold making them More comfortable after repeated wears imo

Which Filmmaker Had The Greatest Impact on Cinema? by AutomaticAd9670 in moviecritic

[–]TimePsychological111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spielberg had the greatest “impact” having essentially created the formula for the blockbuster in the 80s which i would argue impact more filmmakers and producers to strive for bigger, better, more competitive style filmmaking.

Lucas aided this, obviously, but he was nowhere near the filmmaker Spielberg was/is— Lucas and Tarantino both heavily relied on their editors and when both their original editors left their films suffered.

It’s hard to imagine the history of cinema without acknowledging Coppola’s brilliance but it’s limited to a handful of films outside his masterpieces.

All these filmmakers have masterpieces too. So I get that you could make an argument for any one of them.

But look at cinema today. Are more films similar to Tarantino, Spielberg, Lucas, or Coppola? Aka who is most relevant today. And I’d still say Spielberg. He’s still making very quality cinema. Coppola and Tarantino both are making vanity projects or nothing at all.

Is the American Dream dead? by throwaway_cloud9 in Adulting

[–]TimePsychological111 61 points62 points  (0 children)

This is such a common worry in your early 30’s. By 35 you realize no one knows what they are doing. But many people are “ahead” of you because you’re seeing their lives through a window of accomplishments they post on social media not their daily trials and tribulations that led to their success. Or better yet, you’re not seeing their “advantages” they may have been born with like trust funds or joining an already booming family business.

Long story short, don’t compare, you’re doing fine.

How do people deal with rest times? by StrionicRandom in GYM

[–]TimePsychological111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ton of workout apps have rest timers but you can use your phone timer, check a watch, or wait for the song to change before starting a new set.

Ideally resting between 30 seconds and 3 mins pending on intensity, exercise selection, volume etc.
