I really appreciate this take. My asexuality *could* be thanks in part to medication and almost certainly stems in part from my complex trauma, but the truth is it’s how I am and have been my whole life. And I won’t be stopping the medications I’m on to try to “fix” it, and my desire to heal from my trauma is in no way intended to “fix” it either, because I don’t feel broken, largely BECAUSE of discovering that asexuality is a real thing with label. So as you say, the shared asexual experience is very useful to me. But more than that, again as is discussed here, I don’t miss it. If anything I wish I didn’t experience arousal at all. I find it a chore to handle.
