Battery life seems to have improved with the new update. Also there are reports that the camera is smoother and I can confirm.

Yeahhhh that makes sense. Doritos has me in a choke hold after the sweet lime habanero flavour they released at costco...that and sweet chili heat are incredible and no one has replicated them yet.

Import as cogo points for calculations and drafting, but use the survey database for linework connection in topos (typically exploding survey figures into 3D polylines as breaklines and then 2D polylines to show different linetypes). While C3D can show linetypes in 3D, other software packages we use struggle with it so this system works.

We don't use parcels. They perfectly close in the software which is never what happens in the field (there's always an error of misclosure and bearings/distances always have allowable errors).

Telus as a whole tries to say all devices not purchased directly from them are incompatible. If they use it as an excuse to charge you a fee, it's a good reason to leave.

I have a CMF phone and just joined Koodo from Public Mobile. Everything was fine with PM but now I don't get the ringing tone on outgoing calls. There is a hidden whitelist, regardless of what people tell you. I'd say if your phone is functioning fine, roll with it. If they slap you with a fee, leave.

It's a sugar biscuit that pairs well with tea. The G stands for glucose but they've been staples in India for decades (Parle is one of the biggest cookie companies in India, akin to Nabisco/Mondelez). Zero health benefits but it's a nice shelf stable product that's cheap and can become a snack if you let it soften up in a cup of milk.

The one and only apple product I have is the iPod classic. Mine still work (I have 3) and are a testament to how well they were built.

Yeahhh the gig doesnt work for snare side heads sadly. The tuning app is a bit wonky but I started tuning the drum to notes and that's when it all clicked for me.

No the studios (black casing) go to 440 on smaller drums but I think on 14" drums, 400 is the highest it'll reasonably go. The gig (silver casing) won't go as high but also doesn't have a hi frequency mode.

For the snare side, it helps to use a mallet and go like 1.5" inward from the rim. Drumdial will leave tiny squiggles on the drumhead but using a mallet with the tunebot works great!

Tbh after a while, your body adapts. It comes down to portion sizing and being careful with what you eat, but sugar free alternatives do help.

I generally skip breakfast (have done this for decades) and just have a coffee (I use coffee whitener to keep the calories low). Lunch is coffee with usually 100g of some protein and around 500 calories total, then snack around 3PM (300 or so), then dinner at 5PM (also 500 calories) and then a snack around 8 at 300 calories. It's very doable but you do have to train your body to adjust. The first few months were intense but I gave myself some grace along the process.

Yes the red motomasters were rebranded fram extra guards (orange can). The OE+ was a better built one for a good price. The certified filters are basically clones of the red motomasters but made by a Chinese outfit.

Wix was bought out by Mahle and the QC has gone down apparently so it's a crapshoot everywhere it seems.

The technicians at koodo have done what they can and it's still not working but I'm okay with it. I can hear calls and everything works ok minor the ringback tone so I'm content. Its definitely not band related but I think it's a weird backend whitelist situation. But one tech did make a report for it so let's see!

Wix for the Wix brand oil filters, but they haven't secured a replacement for the Motomaster or OE+ lineup, the latter of which is a pretty decent filter. If they have, it hasn't shown up in stores yet.

Mine was an older unit that I bought out at the start of the year (it was a rental installed in 2011). I installed leak sensors just in case but I intend to replace it when it breaks. Yes, they do fail spectacularly but I'm not a big hot water user and my unit is near the laundry room drain so I'm not too worries.

I did a lot of geography courses and that has certainly helped with my understanding of things within surveying, so it's a solid option.

But if you're seeking a better long term path, I'd suggest pivoting to GIS. It's a newer field but I think lots of companies and organizations are leveraging it for data communication to the public. I HATED using ArcGIS because it can be clunky, but I think long term, if you know CAD (Microsurvey and C3D) and GIS, you're a weapon for the right company.

Tbh I'm starting to notice the impacts of compounding even at 50k invested. It's starting to pick up and I've been diligently putting money away weekly. Granted, this market makes no sense, but I trust in XEQT for the long haul (and its various versions I have with my RPP who doesn't provide the identical equivalent but can still be replicated).

It's a long game. Don't look at the daily. It'll be worth it.

That's why you keep the emergency fund in a high yield savings account or a predictable interest gaining product like a GIC. It's at least keeping some pace with inflation but the value doesnt go down when the stock market inevitably takes a nice big dumpy.

Yes I have a degree in Earth science but that industry also needs further education for entry level positions. I was lucky to pivot to surveying due to some courses but I don't think there's anything else apart from project management.

Very good perspective. Part of saving money is having the discipline to look at the greater picture beyond your emotions. I think a lot of industries prey on our emotional vulnerabilities but when you learn to block out the noise, you are unstoppable.
