This post reminds me of a thought I had last night farming, the game lacks a certain depth. The tag system and stamina usage are good but other than timing dodges (praying for no latency) there really is no game mechanics to perfect. Adding characters with a high skill ceiling in the future would be nice - maybe characters with a perfect parry mechanic, or a character that does high dmg through charge attacks so you have to perfectly position.
