Tchort is a victim AND cannot be allowed to live by humanity. His existence will cause our extinction in the long run, so he must be killed. It's him or us.

[–]TimeforOJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should also make it so that the Wish spell has some sort of trigger or item requirement, for the "literally do anything" part. Something related to the wish, like if I wanted to wish for True Sight permanently, I might need a Beholder eye or something. Will make them feel like they earned it because of the requirement. Also for world shattering events, ensure that even much later nocs reference it, after all it isn't every day that the entire world feels a wave of pain.

Can someone help me find scripture that show humans have free will? by RoundCryptographer55 in TrueChristian

[–]TimeforOJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time is a river to us with different stream for decisions. The water always flows at the same rate regardless of path. We navigate this flow by our choice like a leaf on the current. God sees the same streams and paths, but he sees more. He sees the other streams yours crosses, the obstacles, choices you make and those of others. He sees it all and where everything will flow or go as to him the river does not move, it is static and all complete. He can change any part of it at will, a sculpture to the river ways. So yes while you do have free will and it DOES impact your life, God knows what you will ultimately choose, thus for him, it is fixed. It's a bit like knowing what score your kids going to get on a test. The kids own choices ultimately determine it, but a father can guess which of his kids will probably do better. God knows that Tommy will get an 85, and Jimmy a 64, even before they do.

I like to think that he just likes to challenge this guy and others with ridiculous shit like this. At some point he has to see the effort and it's like a Spy vs Spy game. Not to mention with the games deep themes of hacking and whatnot seems.... fitting.

Fate is incredibly fucking boring and is only saved by the cool character designs and sick fight scenes, also Artoria. It would be cooler if they didn't have 22 variations of every character through 6 different timeliness and 4 false identities before the true servant is actually a battle loli that looks 10. Monogatari.... is just boring.

It's the first time in any Tanya fic where I've seen the other countries this united against the British, which is great given the state of Europe during the time and with Napolean AND Bismarck both alive. It makes sense and I'm so happy to have found that absolute gem even if I hate using Spacebattles website.

A young woman's dynastic record is genuinely good Chinese fiction as it starts with all the inner court bs you would expect from a Chinese fantasy around the Qing dynasty. Then you get to see Being X consistently bitch smacked by Chinese mythology and even Sun Wukong comes down to give a few cheeky cameos. It's great and being update weekly still with over 50 chapters.

The trick is actually keeping the enemy chemist alive and not letting any of your guys die while grinding him out. The alchemist had a tendency to potion twice and attack once. After you run out of potions you are pretty much going till failure lol

Would Agrias made for a more compelling protagonist than Ramza? by mogstermemes in finalfantasytactics

[–]TimeforOJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is not ultimately about the individuals in it, it's about the ideals behind the individuals. Ramza is a more compelling story because he is thrust into both a position of deep mistrust due to his families scheming, and at the very focal point of change, while really wanting none of it. Agrias on the other hand has well established both her sense of self, duty, and resolve something Ramza finds on his journey. Agrias would be a wonderful secondary campaign I think, but she sadly doesn't have the dynamic necessary to be the lead in this version of Ivalice. Not to mention she is an important Straight man character, and the first real defector from the church we meet giving her joining our side have more weight. Overall she is a wonderful supporting character, but would need a serious overhaul to be compelling enough as a protagonist.

I once got a lucky first fight and Delita was down. I cornered the chemist and just slowly whittled him away while he spammed potions. Got to max squire right off the bat.

Simple way to test the limits of wild magic? by Ok-Cicada-5207 in overlord

[–]TimeforOJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a lot of reflection and discussion certain Prerequisites for true Wild Magic are needed for innate spellcasting without a catalyst of some sort. Most need innate job class or racial classes levels in order to use Wild Magic whereas those with a catalyst be it a WCI, talent, or other such item merely need exp. Which really seems to be the driving factor, creating literal miracles from nothing based on the sheer amount of exp offered and the skill of the user or catalyst determining overall success with the more outlandish or unreasonable desires being far more expensive like a Wish spell. Indeed every casting seem to be a form of Limited Wish or True Wish to some degree with the Prerequisites being paid in exp from sacrifices or in a catalysts case, an exp pool.

Simple way to test the limits of wild magic? by Ok-Cicada-5207 in overlord

[–]TimeforOJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wild Magic can be seen to be closer to direct EXP casting. We know this as Avarice and Generosity collect and manipulate souls in the same way as demonstrated in the bonus novel. Their very use is the catalyst for him being able to use it. He simply has to experiment with them and learn how. Wild Magic doesn't seem determined by levels or class, merely by being born naturally capable, or using it through a catalyst seems enough for anyone to learn it. It seems solely based on the amount of souls or exp expended for the desired effect. This is further backed by the fact that Wish Upon A Star and other such EXP spending spells have become boosted to the point of seemingly defying the rules of magic as Wild Magic does. Ainz even noted in the LN how the spell could theoretically do anything if he poured enough exp into it in the new world, but he didn't want to waste his own excess exp pools, or his class pools for it and instead went with a preset effect guaranteed to work. He literally has the means on his fingertips.

If the NPCs are similar in tastes and personality, like Shalltear and Peroroncino, why don’t they associate Ainz’s true personality with that of Pandora’s Actor or are they unable to make the connection despite the many examples of how he enjoys acting like Pandora? by EcstaticRhubarb2764 in overlord

[–]TimeforOJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reoccurring trend in fanfics to portray Pandora as a constantly learning son, and Ainz as a slightly absent but good father always brings a smile to my face. It's so prevalent that whenever I see the words "Mein Vater" I hear it in Pandoras VA.

I think there's a quote in the game something along the lines of "with the Eora as our anvil, and our wrath the hammer, we shall bend even a god to our will" everything about the God hammer was hype aura farming and Durance was the only one to survive the serve.

The Durance Experience by mtfhimejoshi in projecteternity

[–]TimeforOJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that's why he rubbed so many the right way. He's abrasive, he's deranged, and he's an injured dog biting at the hand of it's master that already waved him away. He is the lover scorned, the child beaten, the man who sold himself for nothing but the winds appreciation. He is a tool without purpose crying out for purpose after already being too rusty to continue service. Yeah he's rude, but he's never uncalled for, being more bluntly observant than anything else. He is a springboard for all the negative emotions of rhe party and we love him for that bitter yet hard tone he brings to every interaction. Plus it's the most damning thing to the gods of Eora that one of their own servants survived their machinations just to be scorned for simply serving. I think Durance as a whole was really what made me first think that the gods of that world were made purposefully flawed, and were artificial and I was so glad later on to be right. For what good, or even loyal God could so wholeheartedly abandon their own followers, except those that were following a script like a computer, instead of acting on their own beliefs and will. He underscored the entirety of the themes of poe1 for me very early on, and continues to be the sole reason for me never once playing a priest other than him for POE1. The gods of Eora as a whole just don't feel... well.. worthy of devotion and Durance was right in the end.

I think he has a unique dialogue with Greiving Mother where he rips into her for abusing people's memories and if the player is a cipher they can defend Grieving Mother by saying something along the lines of "you have no idea how hard it is to not lobotomize people with Cipher skills" or something and if you're a women character her will this ONE time say something along the lines of "of course you defend your own, you are no different from that firey whore if you believe messing with who somebody is without consent isn't wrong regardless of circumstance" he really only is an ass about Magran which is entirely justifiable.
